PM Nawaz inaugurates 1180MW Bhikki Power Plant in Sheikhupura

What is the current status of power outage in Islamabad, Pindi, and Lahore?

Joint ventures with China and the US should continue. US is still the pioneer in technology.

These projects are literally, make or break for the political future of PMLN. If they pull of another nandipur again, they might aswell pack their bags and boycott 2018 elections.

EXACTLY BECAUSE IT NEEDS A LOT OF GAS, which do not have in mass, it should have been better build for coal !

He said, "We have allocated the budget which is Rs.55 billion which actual was Rs.90 billion" Come on Retard, this project could be completed within Rs.25-35 billion or less. Awaam ko chootiya banate hain. Aur awaam chootiya hai bhi. They deserve it. Their ignorance has led this country to a mess.

inauguration and ground breaking are two extreme stages of a project. Ground breaking is the first (which this report is about) inauguration will happen when the project is completed and starts production/generation..

It's a gas power plant. Based on the article below, two more have been announced under the federal government. What concerns me is its functioning. Pakistan will be running short on gas now that winter is coming, how will they manage to provide gas for power production once the projects are up and running?

It will take almost 3-4 years for new power plants to be operational. So enough time to sort out IP Gas project and LNG import from qatar. Considering how expensive gas is it will be a night mare for consumers. They wont be able to operate it for too long just like nandipur. Another waste of money.

At a minimum you need to spend $1B for 1000MW plant there is no way you can do it in 25 billion Rs. At the max you may get a 200MW plant with that kind of money - Thanks
