After a couple of unlucky years, Vivek Oberoi is back with a bang. Indeed, Vivek Oberoi could not have asked for a better comeback to Bollywood.

Several Opposition Parties opposed the release of the film around the polling period as they believed it would influence the voters. Their argument was that the film could give BJP an unfair advantage in the polls. The Election Commission stalled the film and shifted it from its initial April 12 release.

In an interview to IndiaToday.in, producer Sandip Ssingh had opened up on why they decided to tell the story of Modi. "We are just here to tell the story of a man who has inspired us. He comes from nowhere - he was a chaiwala and he became a prime minister of a nation with a population of 125 crore. He is one of the biggest brands in the world. Modi's story is the reason why we are making this film," he said.

However, though the producers and makers have defiantly maintained that the film is not propaganda, the biopic as been slammed by critics for its almost-deification of the Prime Minister. India Today's movie reviewer Ananya Bhattacharya has given the film one star out of five and written, "The director, who did a commendable job with Mary Kom, brings the worst of his craft to PM Narendra Modi. Modi's is a story that the entire country is aware of. Taking 'creative liberties' in such a scenario is not exactly a smart thing to do. Perhaps it is. Because decades down the line, when people chance upon this 'biopic' of PM Narendra Modi, it will be THE Modi Story. PM Narendra Modi the film takes its viewer through the best bits of Modi's life. It highlights the struggles of this man, who fought his way from selling tea in train compartments and sleeping in caves to 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. On the way, it caricatures the Opposition, Congress, Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi... and robs Manmohan Singh of his voice altogether."

The other release of this week is Arjun Kapoor's India Most Wanted. However, with Modi returning to power, it looks like the biopic will be tough competition for Arjun Kapoor's crime thriller.

This is real Vikas. Modi Ji turns a flop actor into a superstar

Good . Now he won’t have to use his social profiles for political propagandas, instead he will be doing that on cinema screen.
