Prime Minister Imran Khan aims to make his education institute, The Namal Institute, into one of the world’s leading institutions. The first step to achieve this goal has been taken as The Namal Knowledge City is being built in Pakistan.
The work on the project has already begun. A leading US architect, Tony Ashai, was recruited to design the master plan, which has been finalized.

About Namal Knowledge City
A one-of-its-kind project, Namal Knowledge City, will be the first platform in the country that brings together educationists from all over the world. The consortium’s sole aim is to become Pakistan’s largest and most recognized facility in terms of acquiring, creating, disseminating, and utilizing knowledge.
A vital feature of the project will be ensuring the sustainable development of the knowledge city and the communities in Pakistan at large.
As per the master plan, the first phase of development will be completed by the year 2023, and the major construction work will be completed by the year 2027.
Reports state that the knowledge city will include academic blocks, libraries, technology parks, business centers, dairy farms, primary and secondary schools, sports facilities, hospitals, shopping centers, hotels, and housing colonies for staff, faculty, and students.
In a statement, PM Imran Khan talked about the unique and exciting project:
The establishment of Namal Knowledge City brings the vision of a sustainable Pakistan one step closer. Under the multidisciplinary Namal Knowledge City, students will become tomorrow’s leaders.
PM Imran Khan has been working to develop many promising initiatives. To date, one of his most coveted works is the establishment of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital.
