No need. Show them that that money will not go into another's pocket and expats will donate in droves. They actually have done this multiple times before, e.g. Shaukat Khanam, Earthquake relief of 2005, every flood relief effort.

You're talking about a very few people here. Most Pakistani's are trapped in the system that was shaped over generations by our corrupt leaders. You can't blame the common Man of Pakistan for not "Pulling their weight" because you're not talking about a select few. Millions and Millions of Pakistani's are chained to the system because they weren't provided proper education, health or infrastructure. The Middle-Higher class of Pakistan even at their worst still pay taxes, create jobs and whatever infrastructure possible. These are the people from the working class blue & white collar society of Pakistan. It's because o them that the country is still in order so I believe its unfair on your part to assume that we're not "Pulling our weight" as a nation. What ex-pats brings to the table is chump change compared to the millions employed here taxed everyday in every sector.

For rough comparison's sake, the highest Pakistan has ever accumulated in total revenue was last year; less than $49 billion. This amount in 2012 was less than $25 billion. Averaging at $37 Billion since 2012. Keep in mind that this is the state's total revenue, not just tax revenue. Now imagine the importance of those $20 billion remittances directly injected into the economy every year. $20 billion that was not earned by using any of Pakistan's resources. $20 billion FDI, in other words, but without any returns leached back abroad.

ps: This excuse that its the hand full of elite/leaders that have destroyed the country is a fallacy. Every single one of us has had a hand in it. There isn't even any social structure left in the country. Everyone, roughly, steals. Either money or his/her fellow man's rights. It was not the political elite which forced the resignation of those Ahmadi economists; Expat Pakistanis who were brilliantly suited for the job and were willing to leave everything, including their high paying jobs, abroad to work for Pakistan. This is not to say that expats are any better. The same Pakistani driving in his lane in NA, ME or EU turns into a rabid animal when on Pakistani streets. Dishonesty and corruption are now built into our social fabric.

Is that how you think expats live abroad? Buddy, whatever your expat taya, chacha, mama, dost told you about the unending fields of prosperity that they are enjoying abroad was bs. An overwhelming majority of Pakistani expats are living with their families still in Pakistan, families for which they moved, moved because they weren't allowed remotely adequate opportunities in Pakistan. They moved there to work multiple jobs while living in horrendous conditions to send those $20 billion back home.

Apart from the fact that the only reason expats could not vote in the last two elections was because of imbeciles sitting in Pakistan.
