Yes indeed you are right. GoP chose to get an IMF bailout. GoP chose to comply with IMF conditions. However just so we are clear the sacrifice being made here is that of the country's economic sovereignty. These individuals don't answer to anyone in Pakistan. They answer only to the IMF.

The only reason they are coming out and talking about a voluntary cut is because they want to hide the fact that we had no choice. That we can't afford the military we have and it is bankrupting the country! That the only reason we were able to afford it in the past is because foreign tax payers were happy to periodically bail us out.

A cut is only as good as its duration. Supplementary grants can be given at any time for any number of reasons. PMIK is still in charge here, not the IMF. It will all be okay in the end.

They all lie. The latest is "Finance adviser denies budget is IMF dictated". If you have to deny it it must be true!

But in this case he is not lying. The budget is not dictated by the IMF. It is the government's plan to balance its books, and with PMIK's approval.

Pakistan exists to fight india. Without that what is the reason for Pakistan's existence? What is there to unite the people of the country? Already they are at each others throats. Balochis vs Punjabis vs. Pathans vs. Sindhis vs. Mohajirs. It is only their hate for india that brings them together.

Does that even make sense.... every country has disconnects and problems. India has too undoubtedly but that not mean you need an external reason to Unite... You all can still unite to eradicate poverty, polio and other stigmas
