'PM gives go-ahead for ground operation in Shawal Valley'

Could i know if security forces use helicams? These can be very useful for ground troops in the areas like mentioned here.

Please quote me where I have mentioned or supported Imran Khan? As a matter of policy I don't support any politician. Have seen them up close and personal.

Secondly, if you honestly think any civilian government has the guts to stand up to the COAS/ PA, then you and the likes of you seriously need a reality check!

1) Free eletions aren't about IK, I just used that as a funny modern day example. The reason Pakistan is behind by 3 decades from its counter parts like South Korea, Turkey, Malaysia, etc, is because of the lack of a proper system. The military general f'd up the country for so many decades that people don't even realize they need to have a system who'd benefit them. Add failed few democracies and again, fueled by the military, the result is in front of everyone else, until 3-4 years ago, Pakistan was known as the epicenter of all terrorism. Then came the civilian government (the real one, not Zardari's corrupt one). The democratic government is taking the Pakistan forward, its not your generals, its not your corps commanders, its the elected PM and his team who've brought $ 46 billion worth of investment in one shot from China. Mind you, there have already been over $ 10 billion worth of investments which have already happened since the elected government came.

A few days ago, your government officials met with GE and a few other American companies' executives on "investments" in energy sectors.......how many times have you heard that from American businesses? American companies used to be scared to go to Pakistan and now they want to invest into her. Well, someone did a lot of work at showing the country as a stable, moderate and economically growing country. And that sure as hell wasn't your military.
I have plenty of respect for your military's leadership as I have relationships at many places. But, I also know your history and your generals. And trust me, no country goes forward based on military rules!!! A system was needed, its under development and its already showing its results. The system will automatically cleanse itself from wrongdoers, the military need not to be involved and they've got the point.

2) And wrong that no one ever stood up to the military. NS is the PRIME example, and Musharraff is ALSO a prime example of what should happen to traitors who suspend and break a country's constitution. Kiyani, Gen. Raheel are much better knowing the need for a system. Gen. Raheel is probably the best general Pak Army has gotten in the past 5 decades for sure. He personally believes in saluting the elected officials. Of course, in cases like security and all, the military will have a say in pretty much everything as they are the ones ensuring security. But some people like you, are giving false sense of power to the military.

If the military comes up again (NOT going to ever happen, mark my words), and if it was say .005% chance, Pakistan would go bankrupt within 1 year, the same military won't even have a country to defend, no salaries paid to soldiers, no expensive shinny BMW 5 series given to generals and no VIP treatment in land, residential and commercial lots in DHA and all. What would they do....? How do you protect a country when you couldn't import enough copper and steal to build bullets or have oil and energy to sustain running manufacturing facilities??? Believe me, the military has gotten it. Its always the Civilians who somehow get Pakistan out of the mess, whether it be the Kargil event or other issues.

Its high time that you and others like you understand and respect the system. The car runs on fuel and the world runs on money, without which, you can't buy pistols, let alone F-16's......and what takes Pakistan to a much more powerful level, is the civilian government. Its their job to grow the economy, bring in the business and ivestments, create millions of new jobs, provide better roads, hospitals, schools and all. They are doing their job and the military should do theirs. At the end of the day, what matters is the 200 million people, their future and growth. Not 550,000 vip / special people's lives because they are in the military.

COAS has really cleaned house, even Tirah Valley which was only part of pakistan on the map has been cleared. The last stand of TTP in Pakistan is Shawal Forest, after that we will target them across the border to help our Afghan brothers fight terrorism. Tribal areas need to be developed in the long run as Zarb e Azab moves to Baluchistan to take out the Indian Cross Dressers..

As much as I dislike Nawaz, this news item was more a message sent out that we are almost ready to help Afghanistan fight terrorism if they are struggling to do it themselves.

@Zarvan Is this the final ops in NWA?

PA should show no mercy to these rented terrorists also PAF & Armed Drones should be used heavily to bomb these rented terrorists.

Pretty much yes but the problem is TTP leadership is in Afghanistan and we have to bomb them

I hope Pakistan & Afghanistan reach an agreement for Pakistan to use PAF & Armed drones against rented terrorists who are hiding in Afghanistan.

When the areas are cleared please think about barring the Pak-Afgan border. Two models are available for this purpose:

1. India fencing border with Bangladesh, equiped with modern technology.

2. Old and well established China style, 'The great wall'. Multi purpose safe and attractive for tourists. Make it equiped with modern day facilities and surveilance system.

Afganistan has hit us twice once in Soviet war and then in war on terror. It is not unlikely she hit us again in near or far future. So, it is very wise to be cautious and make safety assured with long term actions on the borders.

Good to know this is last area.
Really is it? good news then. Have been hearing of so many ops.hope peace comes for good. And this is the last region.tho Given the nature of terrain here battle doesnt look very easy. Anyways.

Its so weird to see some people staunchly arguing over getting permission from pm and considering it should be deemed as must. wasnt nawaz sent to saudia or exiled by musharraf?

Well if some havent noticed then its surprising, but gen raheel has always kept himself away from politics and favored democratic system despite having the power to overthrow useless noora gov. He cud have done that and was feared too, for doing that in last year dharnas period ,but he refrained. I dont know if i am right to quote this example, but following a democratic process to setup military courts , didnt that show the general's will? And then throwing the ball in parliaments court to decide on yemen crisis.

Gen raheel has shown a lot of patience towards these ***** politicians. And no, pm could never block the funds for he knows his auqat before military , and he should know that too for his own well being, cuz if someday he is kicked off the pedestal ,none of us is going to feel any sympathy for him.
