ISLAMABAD: Intelligence officials have arrested eight men believed to have been involved in a plot to assassinate the President.

According to intelligence sources, intelligence officials had been conducting raids for the past three weeks and had managed to arrest four people from Islamabad and four people from Punjab, who had been plotting to kill President Asif Ali Zardari.

Sources said that intelligence officials had been monitoring the trail of the plotters by tapping their mobile phone lines.

Express 24/7 correspondent Syed Ali in Islamabad said that many of the President’s meetings during the funeral services of Hakim Ali Zardari had been cancelled due to security reasons.

The suspects have been moved to an undisclosed location.

Poor Zardari. Already has 2 security men accompany him when he goes to the toilet. Now they will probably accompany him into the toilet itself. I think this is just propaganda to prove to the world how important he is!! No one wants to soil their hands with his blood!!!!

Lets not lose all civility here just because Zardari himself has. He still holds the title of President. Whereas I may be willing to see him overthrown, seeing him dead - going like "oh shucks!" on a missed chance - only promotes terrorists and in any form we should not come off supportive of those scumbags.

All life should be considered precious, even Zardaris. Don't belittle it in this way.
