Plane crash at Bangalore air show

CAC reports all its losses..chinese and pakistani planes wil soon be fully modern and ready for war , wait for that day, when we are flying super powerful JF-17 and Godlike J-10, using SU-30 MKI for target practise. If there are no losses to report why will CAC report any, amkes no sense, you are just trying to find faults in advanced and capable organisations like PAC and CAC because HAL cant make anything to match what PAC has made.

Stop talking and Bring it On :partay: :toast:

Tire burst of a trainer after landing = Plane crash ??

.. not very honest BBC News!!

I just saw the pictures released by Air International and Flight International; Right wing completely destroyd, leftwing flaps torn off and lying on the ground and left protion of horizontal tailfin also gone.

If this is not a crash than what is? :P

It was a tire burst not a crash, Yes planes landing gear got damaged but it can be replaced.

Did you see the pictures I mentioned? Torn off wing and tail portions is definately more than a broken landing gear.

Goodperson,

Though it landed on three wheels and the tire burst, the fuslage hitting the ground was quite violent and it did break some vital parts, left wing and the underbelly is certianlly damaged, it did not exaclty slide to a halt on its underbelly...it banged on to the tarmac.I agree with NEO , anyways it doesnt make any difference other than a PR disaster, which mIgs, su's, f16, f15 have all gone thru

Yes I agree Aircraft damaged more than landing gear, Yes it was a PR disaster for HJT. But you can see from the report I got from Wikipedia, Landing gear gave way and got damaged, HAL had said the plane can be repaired I fill find the report.

Here is the image and report on Incident.

Incidently Srirangan also host website AeroIndia.org which has very good images from AeroIndia.

AeroIndia 2007 incident

One of the two prototype aircraft built by HAL suffered serious damage after an aborted take-off run from Yelahanka airbase near Bangalore. The aircraft was participating at the Aero India 2007 air-show. [1] The incident happened because of the canopy of the plane opening up as it was not properly closed and the pilot applying emegency brakes just before takeoff. The plane did not catch fire although it skidded off the runway, raising a cloud of dust and smoke. The pilot, Squadron Leader (retd) Baldev Singh, escaped unharmed, officials said, after two fire tenders were rushed to douse the tyre that had caught fire.

AFM April edition published a different report on the accident.
The pilot left the canopy open while trying to tako off...oops! :lol1:
