PLA information-based POL field support capability improved
Aiming to build an information-based military and win the information war, during the 11th Five-Year Plan period, the POL Institute under the General Logistics Department (GLD) of the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) speeded up its pace of scientific and technical innovation by comprehensively exploiting such new technologies as communication, network, electron, ultrasonic and optical fiber transmission and centering on the realization of information-based management of POL equipment, command platform and oil depot, and obtained a batch of new achievements in succession on POL information technology with its own intellectual property rights, realizing remote visualized management of and control over field POL transportation and oil depot operation, and improving the information-based POL field support level of the PLA.
Telescope of field oil pipeline
At the computerized control room of the field oil pipeline communication, dispatching and command center of an oil pipeline group, the communication equipment keeps transmitting the data of all the pumping stations along the thousand-kilometer-long pipeline rapidly and accurately. With a light click of mouse by the operator, a trend map of the operation situation of all the pumping stations can be clearly seen on the computer.
The field oil pipeline is one of the main measures of POL support in wartime. To have a good command of the working state of the oil pipeline at any time and in any place, the POL Institute of the GLD developed 10-odd kinds of new-type visual equipment, successfully realizing the target of information-based field pipeline communication and dispatching, integrated support and visualized management and control.
Oil transporting equipment has intelligent brain
It is learned that the command and control system for field oil pipeline developed by the POL Institute of the GLD has integrated the technology of sensor, measurement and control as well as network. It can undertake effective monitor and control over the operation situation of all the pumping stations of the whole oil pipeline in the duty room with no workers involved, realizing the visualized management of and control over pumping stations of field oil pipeline, and improving the information-based support level of the oil pipeline. Therefore, its praised as the intelligent brain of the field oil transportation equipment.
Nerve center of thousand-kilometer-long oil pipeline
The satellite-earth joint information center system developed by the POL Institute of the GLD overcame the barrier among different sectors within the same trade and realized the mutual connection and mutual linkage of business information between different trades and systems of the quartermaster, materials and POL. It is learned that since this system was put into use, it has transmitted more than 5 million working information and received and transferred 20,000-odd copies of data, greatly improving the efficiency of information-based oil support.
