On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, Pakistan International School Jeddah-English Section (PISJ-ES) has affirmed its commitment to serve the cause of education with dedication and devotion.

“May Allah guide us and give us strength to stand united and work together for the prosperous and sovereign Pakistan,” PISJ-ES Principal Sehar Kamran said on Saturday. “Excellence is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, skillful execution and the vision to see obstacles as opportunities,” she said in reference to the students’ high academic achievements.

PISJ-ES is a place with a long tradition of service and teaching, this prestigious institution, which is a manifestation of quest for knowledge, was founded by the late former Pakistani Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto. Over the years, this institution has grown extensively and today it occupies a “prominent and unshakable position in the fields of academics, co-curricular activities and sports,” she said, adding that the school is recognized as one of the best educational institutions in the Middle East.

PISJ-ES offers well-recognized UK qualifications and maintains high standards of instruction. “At PISJ-ES we provide supportive environment for studies and all facilities that any international standard Institution should have.

Excellent results

Meanwhile, excellent results have been obtained by the school’s students in CIPP (Cambridge International Primary Program), GCE, IGCSE, AS & A Level exams conducted by the University of Cambridge in May-June 2011.

Top Achievers in the A Level exams have secured A grades in all the subjects. Some of the outstanding results are: Aisha Tariq 1st position in A Level examination, having sat in 4 A Level subjects and secured 3 A* grades and 1 A grade; Rafia Farooq, Uzair Ahmed Tariq and Hassam Ullah Usmani 2nd position in the school appeared in 3 A Level subjects and got 2 A* grades and 1 A grade; Ammar Farrok Chapra appeared in 3 A Level subjects and secured 1 A* grade and 2 A grades; Ali Umair appeared in 4 A level subjects and secured all A grades; Adeel Khan Durrani, Abdul Ahad Jamal and Aneeq Shahzad appeared in 3 A level subjects and got A grades in all 3 subjects; Ali Naveed Khan, Fusbir Rehman, Syed Arsalan Bari, Arfa Fatima appeared in 3 A level subjects and secured 2 A grades and 1 B grade; Arsalan Muhammad Afzal, Amina Jamal Mufti and Saleha Shafqat also received good results.

“Our IGCSE students have brought great pride to the school by producing 100 percent pass result with excellent G grades. Most of the students have secured A* and A grades. The percentage of A* grade to A grade is more than 70 and that of A* to C grades exceeds 98 percent,” she added.

Top marks in IGCSE exam are obtained by Mariah Anjum, Maryam Jatoi and Sara Altaf securing 1st position in the school in IGCSE examinations, they appeared in 8 subjects and secured 7 A* Grades, 1 A grade and ICE Distinction Award. Ibrahim Qureshi and Muhammad Ali Imran secured 2nd and 3rd positions in the school.

The Class VI students appeared for CIPP Mathematics External Exam in May 2011 and students securing highest score (full marks i.e. six points out of six) include Syed Rayyan Aqueel, Muhammad Waqas, Muhammad Usama Khokhar, Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Maazullah Khan, Muhammad Haroon Khan, Musaab Bin Afroz, Manal Nasir Choudhry, Amna Khan, Ramin Qaisar, Maleeha Masood Khan and Jannat Naveed.
