The story of this house was in todays paper, Khaleej Times. Apparently this house belongs to a old couple. This house was in the middle of the new proposed road in China. The couple did not accept compensation by the government because they thought that the cost of rebuilding a house was not filled by the compensation. So they did not relocate and accept compensation. So the road had to be built around the house!

Stubborn folks!!!

^^ the road should have left space, this is rather ridiculous on part of the construction company and the relevant authority who passed the design...its ridiculing the rights infact, which are granted by court/state.

if I am not mistaken the motorway between Leeds and Manchester had a similar issue, but the court ordered to change the design in such a way that neither the privacy nor the environment of the old man's house is disturbed... and also to facilitate the old man's house with the road linking to motorway...
