There is already 8.6mm sniper rifle revealed but not for export

I am not sure whether 8.6mm is far much improvement compare to 7.62mm? I believe 9.3mm to 9.6mm is the best in terms of maximize penetration of a single man sniper weapon and range while not wearing out the user physical strength.

I hope China can developed a calibre in between 7.62mm and 12.7mm. Something like 9.3mm-9.6mm. Still can be handle by single personnel unlike 12.7mm and yet far more powerful than 7.62mm.

Since sniper are a group of elite, such specialize weapon need not to much consideration into mass production and cost. Yet necessity shall be taken into consideration.

Wonder why PLA still keen with their 5.8 mm as sniper rifle, don't know with their accuracy, but I believed in sniper rifle accuracy not issue alone but it also be able to answer 'challenges' in real battle such as penetration. 5.8's sniper won't enough for this especially for special forces.

Reduced logistics. They developed a whole variety of machine gun, assault rifle and sniper rifle. I believe it will be useful for highly mobile, airborne troops equipment. Light weight and easy logistics.

But they need to make a far more powerful one man portable sniper rifle for elite troops. 0.5 sniper is powerful but is never a one man weapon as it too heavy and bulky.

They seems to be going for 8.6mm but I believe a slight heavier rounds has more room for potential development in terms of range and power.
