Sorry if what I said offend you. What I do worry about is the news itself will be weaponized and demonized as something against the faith. It will work because at least some people will take it. I never say everyone or majority of Muslim will trust western media blindly, but at least some.

Spreading fake news and demonizing China is so cheap, YouTube, twitter, Facebook, Instagram are all in US hands, thousands of $$ can do the job.

As you can see, the demonization of China is on historical high, I am not surprised this will be another cheap one.

Slightly off the main topic but I think we are treading a dangerous path with both AI and genetic manipulation in general. What will be the status of a "normal human being" in decades to come? "Normal" itself will be meaningless. Already, designer artificial gene editing is possible in foetuses. Imagine if this is sold at a price? Immediately, a distinction arises between those who can afford it and those who can't. Class differences will be worsened. Gene doping is a very real threat to natural forms of competition - the impact on global sports is just the tip of the iceberg.

The fair general criticism of Chinese science in this regard is that while it is certainly at an advanced level, it is less strictly regulated than it would be in other leading scientific nations.

Good point. There's no denying the USA is the protagonist of the biological weapons arms race.

That said however, it is important to maintain stocks of rare dangerous pathogens. Even extinct or controlled diseases can reemerge. Measles, monkey pox both have seen some high profile emergence recently.
