PIA still Crap

Just sell this and other state owned enterprises that are wasting taxpayer money. No sense to keep injecting hundreds of millions of $$$ on loss making SOEs. Money best invested in space technology and electric vehicles where the state can have bigger impact.

You are not understanding what I said. First...the OP said European airlines...Turkey is an Asian nation period. The US is not a European nation. Period. Facts matter.

Second, my entire point is that a private business with no state subsidy cannot afford to be as bad as PIA. You talk about the lawlessness of Pakistan. Where is the most corruption? In Parliament!!! Why one earth would you let those thieves have oversight over any business??

Who put jiyalas and patwaris into PIA? Politicians. And yet you cannot get over the fact that it was PMLN that wanted to privatize PIA to stop this BS.

As to your last point...I really don't know what you're talking about. Every nations business leaders have poltical interests. Who do you think backs Modi? Some poor idiot in Mumbai slulm or Anil Ambani? Who donates to every political campaign in the US? Not beggars on the street but people with interests like business owners.

Stay on the topic...PIA has not improved. The current MD says revenue has increased by 46 percent and yet still is going hat in hand to SBP for more money. The airlins is a mess, will be a mess and in all honesty is not needed. Private airlines will serve local demand and even the few international routes we have. Airlines like Turkish Airlines have connected the whole world and we cannot hope to compete with them.

PIA is eating up hundreds of billions of rupees in state funds every year. That money could go to the Ehsaas program or developing export industries. Or building dams. Whatever. Bottom line PIA is not needed, is terrible and anyone with common sense would privatize it to stop wasting state funds.



It doesn't matter who you put to run PIA. Imran Khan is running the country and PIA is still a mess. The whole airline is full of idiots/thieves and incompetent people. The culture of the company is terrible.

I have a few apartment buildings in Chicago. Im a busy physician and dont have time to deal with nonsense. I had a few employees who were supposed to take care of things. I paid them on time. They never did good work. What did I do? I fired them all. Out sourced these things to other companies and automated a lot of it. Took scumbag human beings out of the mix.

The GoP is far too busy to have to worry about some crap third rate airline. They need to fire everyone, outsource the routes to well run airlines for a licensing fee and be done with it.

CAA can increase landing fees for foreign airlines, lease prime time slots to them instead of giving them to PIA for free. Imagine, u have freed up something like 46 billion rupees instantly from the federal budget (rough estimate based on last years loss). Plus all the hidden expenses and corruption through PIA is gone instantly.

Disgusting state of affairs at PIA as always. I stopped wasting money on this crap airline long ago. No Hygiene, service is the last thing you could expect from them.cant blame the airline much now tho since it’s evident they can’t improve. Humare log bhi waise bohat jungly hain. It is very variable (reviews of PIA by 3rd party neutrals)...somewhat consistent theme seems to be the crew/staff are quite top notch but the aircraft/systems/procedures themselves need updating/improvement etc.

So its not all a somber story of bad quality etc (though on high loading routes like in OP, likely there is less chance for the crew to shine through for individual experiences to make up for the lack in other depts).

Here is (recent) one that is quite positive towards the PIA experience (and def with that friendly and attentive flight attendant, it makes all the difference....given that is what prompted his very bad review some months back of malaysian airlines) :

I used to travel on PIA for domestic tours.

Had really bad experiences and now my wife never even want to hear “PIA”.

Pathetic airline to say the least. Jingoism or “patriotism” dont sell tickets.

PIA is a family businees for political parties.It has been in coma for long but is being artifically kept alive using tax-payers money.

correct personally i dont believe governments should be running airlines... it is such a silly thing to do.

for this end i hope when the ACM "fixes" PIA they immediately move for privatisation...
