What's new

PIA has 4 ghost pilots

.
This is what happens when you do not have any HR policy in government companies. No one knows who's doing what. Need to kill PALPA now as they're the real problem.

Its ok. Dont worry. We dont need to look at West for approval and disapproval. This is a good step by the govt. IT had to be done. Its more embarrassing to have an airline which crashes almost two new planes in 4 years. Something had to give in. And this shows we are moving in right direction.

PALPA is less a pilot association and more like PPP political wing. Its even more embarrassing that political party has such deep involvement in a specialized and very technical field.

There are pilots which never appeared for any exams!! I know one from Sind who paid 40 lakh to be a pilot, he is from PPP and was an active member of PALPA.

Firing these employees is not enough. Given that lives depend on these people, they should be prosecuted in court, and so should those who enabled and facilitated their recruitment.

Of course, I am not optimistic that the courts will actually do anything. So they should at least be named and shamed.

is this more embarrassing than stealing a necklace from a dignitary and rape scandals..
grow up ..
as mushahidullah put it..so what if they have fake degrees..
or our baloch dignitiry..degree degree hutey hey

court will not only set them free but scold the govt for waste its time and those "poor" folks..
common sense doesn't exist in country like Pakistan..."awaay ka awaa bigra hua hey"

Living up to the mark

"Great people to fly with"
problem is not with PIA..its civil aviation..
"we love corruption" should be our motto

Pakistanis Suffer From Recurrent Memory loss Last year Under AM Arshad Malik PIA Fired a lot of Fake Degree Holders from Ground Crew and support staff and Started proceedings against some suspected Pilots with Dubious Qualifications. PALPA went to the Courts and Got AM Removed from the position of CEO. This Tragedy might not have happened had courts not interfered guess now we will never know.

PIA should fire all those who are not qualified and if their Colleagues try to protect them fire them too. We can Hire Pilots from Else where. Ronald Reagan once fired over 11000 striking air traffic controllers. That the Only way to deal with such elements. GOP and IK need to grow some balls and do what needs to be done and if some institutions interfere then call them out.
you answered your own questions..courts will bring them back..and in 2023 they will be reinstalled with all previous pay

It went beyond embarrassment when we had a aircraft crash with foreign analysts questioning pilot rational.

Senior pilots breaking SOPs and fake degree issue has been around for a while now and they were being protected by PALPA and their political patrons in past two gov. They're fault they didn't let things get fixed discretely and let it get so bad that things had to go public.

Plus side is we can finally hope with things in the open, action will not be impeded and same doesnt repeat.

First step in fixing a genuine problem is acknowledging it.

.
Won’t the problem be solved by simply sacking the offending pilots? If there’s a time to do it, it’s now when COVID-19 has reduced flight activity.
4 of them sacked already . they take long leave from PIA and was working on other airline .

KARACHI: In what appeared to be an action carried out in haste, the Aviation Ministry has included names of two martyred pilots in its official communique, demanding to ground them over possessing dubious licenses, ARY NEWS reported.

According to details available with the ARY NEWS, the names of two pilots who died in a plane crash involving Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-661 in 2016 were also included in the list of pilots to be grounded over suspicious licenses.

They included Captain of the plane Saleh Janjua and First Officer Ahmed Mansoor Janjua, who held a public-private license (PPL).

The PIA flight PK-661 crashed near Havelian on the way to Islamabad from Chitral resulting in the death of 48 passengers and crew including famous singer-cum-religious preacher Junaid Jamshed. The authorities had blamed technical fault for the crash.

The list of pilots issued by the aviation division carried the name of First Officer Ahmed Mansoor Janjua on 97th number.

Moreover, the Chief Operating Officer of the PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik has also written a letter to the Aviation Division, saying that they had implemented a communique calling for grounding action against pilots.

He, however, said that some serious anomalies were highlighted in the issued list with respect to the names of pilots, the airline they are serving, reference, and personal numbers of the pilots.

He asked them to rectify the errors and provide an error-free list by Monday (June 29).

It is pertinent to mention here that the Aviation Division has declared licenses of 160 pilots from national flag-carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Airblue and SereneAir ‘suspicious’ and ordered the management of the airlines to immediately ground the aviates.

The suspicious pilots include 141 from PIA, nine from Airblue, and 10 from SereneAir.

The pilot who flew Junaid Jamshed's plane appear to also have a fake degree. The report about that incident was never made public, and now we know why.

There was a guy in my street, basically from some part of KPK, who used to run his own factory, and he wad also "working" in PIA. Never seen him going to office.
Same with Steel mill. I think after mid 80s we never seen white PIA uniform , well dressed staff.
