PIA probably employs twice as many people per plane compared to other airlines. Political jobs are the main reason for this and there could be other reason as well (internal inefficiencies). I think PTCL was a totally different animal and cannot be compared to PIA as when PTCL was part privatized it was making a healthy profit (and was doing that for many years) although there were similar problems in operation (bureaucracy, delayed work etc).
If PIA to be part privatized then the investor should be selected carefully. This may or may not improve the operation of the airline.

politicians are appointed by peoples mandate therefore any appointments by them are ligid .. Like it or not They have a say in these matters .. Besides this country was ruled by jaranals for half of its existence PIA was headed by various holy jarnails in the past as well it was never became great than even .. Bottom line by privatizing PIA can shed of loads of debt just like kesc or Ptcl It can make money

I dont see any problem with privatisation. PTCL is the perfect example of how it was made a success due to privatisation. Every public company should be privatised partially so that we can steer them out of loss. Railway should also be privatised partially.
