A few quick points. There are eight Kaveri engines in existence today and four Kabini cores. The engine that will be tested on an Il-76 test-bed this October at Russia's Gromov institute will be one of the eight samples that already exists -- not a Kaveri with a Snecma M88 ECO core, which does not exist yet; GTRE has only completed preliminary design and configuration for the 90kN Kaveri-ECO engine.

Kaveri Engine will achieve the Production standards if it successfully Gets Through The October tests.... And If it meets the 90Kn mark then surely it will be Used in the upcoming series of Tejas

Government nod for Snecama ? GTRE JV

DRDO has offered to co-develop and co-produce 90 kN thrust class upgraded Kaveri engine with M/s Snecma, France to meet LCA Mk-2 requirements within 48 months from the date of project inception.

DRDO and M/s Snecma will be jointly responsible for engine design, development, flight trials and certification in Tejas.

The modified Kaveri engine will match the performance of the F414 and EJ2000 throughout the flight envelope of Tejas.

Minimum changes are required in the airframe to integrate this engine without affecting the weight and configuration of Tejas.

The proposed engine will be based on Snecama's 'Eco' engine core.

We should not have gone for French fries in the first place.
When the buzz started of involving a partner i was hoping for Russian Vodka as they always made us fly in need..But MoD knows better...

Anyways even 90KN is not enough to power MK-II..So bye bye Kaveri for LCA....
In future IFF they can make it of >100 KN thrust then it will be considered for AMCA and AURA..
