What do you want to know ?

Nikon D500 & D850, Tamron SP 85m, Nikon 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, Nikon 105, Sigma Art 50 ( 600 m used but not owned)
SB-910, YN-568, etc

Affinity Photo + Capture One

No plans to buy Z7 or Z6 for next two years..

.
Want to buy Nikon D850, but my pockets doesn't allow that .. so will stay with D750 or D810 for now .. Canon 6D mark II is not good for its money when it comes to Still photography ..

D750 is really a good value. Great low light performance.

yes along with better dynamic range , D750 is around 1400$ put a 600$ lens on it , Sigma 24-105mm its a very good overall package under 2000$ , Canon on the other hand 6D mark II cost 2300$+ ..
I think D750 will make a good overall body , if i put a good lens on it like Nikkor f1.4G 85mm than it will become a beast . the lens itself is around 2.5Lacs in Pakistan :(

Never liked Canon 6D though i shot with Canon 5d IV from a friend. The good thing is that we have large community so we can borrow equipment from each other temporarily though I own most of my primary setup but whenever a new camera launches, we try from each other's.
Nikon D750 is much better than Canon 6d though I don't know about the mk-II. I think you should get this and then wait a year or two and buy nikon z7 or its successor. My wife got Nikon Z7 but returned due to some issues. It is a pretty good camera but it will take at least one or two iterations before Nikon fixes all the issues.

5D Mark IV is very good Camera, i used it but for its price i can get D850 which beats it ..I am planning to build a Studio in my Home when i move to US , D750 can be my startup Camera and later i can move to D850 .

Nikon vs Canon is an age-old debate, but both are very good cameras. The differences in performance are relatively minor in the real world, IMO.

Remember, it is the eye behind the camera that matters far more than the camera itself.

My wife has a studio and now she moved it into the basement of our home from her rented office but she used Phase One with digital backs...However my electricity bill has gone up :lol:

It is a personal choice.. I feel better with Nikon since I was gifted D7000 on graduation and I invested in good glass for Nikon so I'll stay with it.

Obviously it will ramp up the electricity consumption but also depends on how often you use your extra lightning , my wife is planning on to put Solar panels on our homes to completely get rid of Electricity bills .. plus i might not be able to use studio that often ..

I can't say for sure how much consumption has gone up because in the last two months a lot of upgradation was done in the basement which consumed a lot of electricity. In Sweden, solar panels help but not that much so it depends on which state/city do you live.
But never mind, for me she staying home providing me home cooked food for lunch and dinner is lot more important than any other cost. And on the whole we will save a lot from the rent ... my money is hers and her money is hers as well

So what camera(s) are you considering?
Thank you for tagging me and bringing this conv. here.

Well, i few years back i was looking to buy a camera and despite the suggestion of going for a basic DSLR i went ahead with a bridge camera in P510 Nikon and was extremely satisfied with the results. The picture quality sure is not same as a DSLR but it gave me a huge range of pictures i can take from the camera. From long range telescopic shots to good macro shots and general landscape and portrait photography. It is true that the results wont match a DSLR in any single one of these categories but the fact is, i may well be carrying two to three lens to cover it all with a DSLR. That is EXPENSIVE and impossible for me to carry.

Anyway, now i am done with P510, gave it to someone and now looking to buy a new camera.

So here is what i am seeking your suggestion on:
  1. Should i stick with bridge, forget about DSLR.
  2. Go ahead and buy a DSLR even though i am sure i wont be able to use it to its potential and will miss out on quite a few shots i would have taken if i have a bridge. Still, do it because the ones i manage to take will be much better than anything i can get from Bridge.
  3. I usually use my camera just 4 to 5 times a year. Its 3 to 4 times on business trip to UK or Germany or other part of Europe. One to Two times during my visit to norther areas of Pakistan
  4. I am more into landscapes and nature than portraits of humans
  5. I cannot carry more than two lens at max. Will prefer to have just one, that give me a half decent range of shots i can take.
Thats is pretty much all the info i have with me.

As for camera, i have looked in Nikon D5600 and like it, with a 18-140 lens, i also have a 18-55 kit lens with me already.

So it will be great if you can suggest something, bridge or DSLR, is DSLR then which one? Wont be spending upwards of 100000, max 110000 on something i wont be using regularly. So any other in same price range as D5600?

Tagging @TaimiKhan and @Zaki again in case one of them can also add something to the discussion. :)

Given all that, why not consider something like a Nikon Coolpix P1000? A DSLR would be nice, but would not add much more utility to your planned use. If you want a smaller camera, a Sony DSC-RX100 IV would be a good choice, but a smaller zoom.

A DSLR is a complete system and I would suggest that only for those looking to get into photography on a regular basis, adding lenses and accessories as they go along.

actually, i have considered P1000 as it will be an improvement on what i was already using and was satisfied with (P510). Not just zoom as even P510 was enough in that regard and the increased zoom in P1000 is something i might not use but it have better max light sensitivity and much longer expouser. The only thing that have held me is the image sensor is same as P510 and i would have liked some improvement in that.

Another options is Canon Powershot SX70 HS!!
Or
Sony DSC-RX10 IV or III (Expensive) with 1" CMOS sensor.

This one looks very promising!

On other hand, if i go for a DSLR, i can select one lens to start with and results in that category would be much better. I would go for a lens suitable for landscapes which can do decent in portraits and some close up shots. What would you suggest for that? D5600 with 18-140mm wont do the job? Will prefer to keep one lens for now as i cannot carry multiple lens on all the tours and i wont be using it too much so wont spend a awful lot on it either.

You know what, can you just help me understand what can i do with that 18-140 lens and what will be the things i will miss out compared to P510 or P1000 or may be DSC-RX10 ??
Dont know why but this time i am just inclining a bit towards DSLR and that D5600 with 18-140 or 70-300 look attractive. I have studied a bit about 18-140, it gives decent bokeh, around 7x zoom too and decent landscape and portrait??
