debatable, looks are subjective..

prop warbird classics aside, of the currently flying and relevant fighter birds.. it's a toss up up between the flanker and the falcon for me, just gorgeous, those planes.. flanker's almost twice its size but so elegant looking, regal proper..

The colonel's forces didn't have two things :

1. Good air defense.

2. A powerful ally like Russia. Russia learnt from its non-assistance to Libya in 2011 and assisted Syria then on. If you watch that interview of the Jamahiriya spokesperson Moussa Ibrahim he says the Libya didn't have powerful friends. I have tagged you in that thread.

But let me tell you that perhaps the first remote weapons station for a military ground vehicle was done in the Jamhiriya either during or before 2011. There was a small Western article with photo of such a captured vehicle during the 2011 invasion. Though this system was not very sophisticated it can be that other militaries got inspired by this system and now RWS is common in all many new armored vehicles.

Maybe I will watch the vid tomorrow but let me say now that the Thunder is not a good-looking plane at all.
