People can survive closure of Steel Mills: PML-N :hitwall:

On News Beat with Meher Bokhari

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim Leader-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khuwaja Mohammad Asif has said that the nation can survive if the institutions like Pakistan Steel Mill (PSM) are closed. He said that despite giving bailouts to the PSM, working on public-private partnership would be a step in positive direction; though it will take time.

The PML-N leader was speaking at SAMAA’s program News Beat. When he was asked about the issues affecting common people, Asif said that the subsidies or bailouts given to these huge organizations eventually affect common people in the form of taxes or increased prices of the basic necessities. He said that common people are forced to bear burden of losses claimed by big organizations like PIA, PSM, and Pakistan Railways.

He said that if these institutes are privatized or their shares are circulated in the market, their impact on common people will be reduced.

Khan said that he is completely disappointed with two years of the present government as the rulers are living luxurious life on the expense of public. When asked whether his party has any remedy of plan to resolve the situation, he said that it is true that they don’t have any remedy; however something in this regard can be initiated. He said that the corruption can be stopped as it is in their control. The government has no intention to check corruption because corruption is going on under the government patronage. The loot in the national institutions which I have named is done under state patronage. SAMAA
