Passengers travelling to Pakistan without health certification stopped at UK airport

The passengers travelling to Pakistan without having coronavirus health certificate stopped at the airport by a foreign airline.

The passengers who are ready to depart to Pakistan have been stopped by the Etihad Airways’ staff for not possessing COVID-19 pandemic health certificate.

Pakistani authorities had made it mandatory for the submission of coronavirus health certificate for the people arriving in the country.

It emerged that the COVID-19 screening test is being conducted with the charges of 400 British pounds.

Whereas, the health report comes after 48 hours.

On the other hand, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) set condition to accept only health certificates generated within the time period of 24 hours.

Earlier on Thursday, CAA had clarified that the nationals returning back to Pakistan have been temporarily exempted from the submission of the coronavirus health certificates till March 21.

The relaxation was given by the aviation authorities following the request of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Air Marshal Arshad Malik

Why does the result come after 48 HOURS??

Every day I'm hearing of new fast tests with even a 4 HOUR turnaround.

It's still cumbersome I agree but for wealthy business elites/board managers it would be attainable.

Overall an excellent strategy by Pakistani government which will severely restrict influx of travellers, pilgrims, visitors of relatives and the usual swarming of our airports. A few business men will be able to get a valid test by throwing a lot of money at this loophole and they probably need to travel for their business. Some basal economic function and political function must be maintained. This is the true nature of a lockdown.

Twitterati types won't realise this is actually a clever manipulation by the government which ultimately is a good idea to stop hordes of people travelling. Thank you to our Indian colleague here for helping to highlight this strategy.

Typical gangu, trouble comprehending anything. Blood sample is taken, and within 48 hours a report produced. The traveler will have 24 hours to submit the report once its generated. This is all prevent people from unnecessary traveling. Right now traveling to different countries is not a right.

Sorry for asking " Have you ever travel by flights specially International"?

If you ask any traveler than he will tell you that it's almost impossible to travel with such conditions.

Usually, people plan to travel in an advance to save money. (15 days to 1 month)

Example: Booking a ticket for after 48 hours would cost more to a Normal Pakistani.

Note: not included other taxes

If he wants to return to Pakistan then he will end to paying to UK and Airlines;

24th March (Booking) from today: 512 $ = 81267.20
6th April (Booking) usually people plan to save money and even booked the flight ticket more than 1 month before but I taken only 16 days: 70950.07

He will end by paving extra PKR:

10317.13 (Extra ticket rupees) + 73965 (Corona Test) = 84282 PKR (Minimum)/ per person

People do hard work to earn money but it seems to total waste. Better Pak govt can ask these rupees from then and do the testing in-house and will get profit as well.. All money will be in Pakistan only.... (Two days -people can stay in hotels with Isolate conditions till get the test reports from PIA or airport authority)

this is great effort yesterday some 300 pakistanis were offloaded in italy and 100+ in spain they want to come pakistan . just for stupidity


no one should enter pakistan without certificate . this is one of the great step taken by gov . and impact is visible these 300 from italy may create 3000 more in pakistan

It is the responsibility of the country to take care of its citizens be it in their own country or abroad.what If you allow these Pakistanis coming from Italy and Spain and let them go through corona test and if found positive quarantine them or are they there for sending remmitance and you have no responsibility towards them.
