Pathetic Loadshedding - Not a single thread on here

Gal kuj kuj dil noo lagdi hey eh waali.

Overpopulation and scarcity of clean air, water and other resources is the problem. That is why I have my signature.

Ah it was once a town surrounded by gardens, I heard Singapore dropped its average temperature by 9 degree with help of foresting only... Imagine if we do the same, but no, wait, a normal tree sells for 30 to 50K !!

I wish to put death punishment for anyone who cuts a tree... !!!

Yes, the grand old trees of Lahore were sacrificed for road widening and other development project. Such a loss! Loadshedding would not be so hot if the trees were still there.

The situation is similar in India too. However, what I have observed is that Mumbai and Delhi have almost zero power cut. The next tier cities including Chennai and Kolkata do have power cuts occasionally, a peak of couple of hours during summer months. But the villages are facing 'loadshedding' same as in Pakistan. 6 hour power cut is minimum in summer and 12 hour cuts are not uncommon.

The reason is villagers don't have to pay for electricity - or in some cases are highly subsidized - vote bank politics.

That is because villages get electricity for free. Even heavy electrical equipment in villages have to pay a flat rate of Rs 500/- per year as fixed electricity charge (UP). So it is natural that there would be load shedding in villages as is is economically unsustainable for utilities even when they are state sponsered to supply electricity. This is what you get for being a socialist, misery for everyone.

Just restrengthens the fact the no one on these forums actually reside inside Pakistan, sitting in US/UK/Mid-East and copy pasting articles over news websites which don't concern the everyday issues everyone faces in Pakistan, is the usual trend on this website!!

ROFL there used to be dozens but people got
a: sick of talking about loadshedding when nothing happened.
b: cant log on to complain because they have no power because of loadshedding.

You can ask your mom to shutup. Ill assume you are a 3rd class taxi driver working your *** off in London, living in 3x4 quarter and acting as if you know everything about Pakistan (just like everyone else) No one has 'generator' and a 'UPS' in villages and sub-urbans areas. But obviously an 'expat' driver like you would'nt know, for you Pakistan is only the name of few big cities.

Awww

Why dont the private companies pay out of own pockets and set up the whole infrastructure from power stations to lines and then they can charge what they want.
As would guess that the villagers are subsidizing the cities.....socialist paying the bill for the capitalist.

i think u r mistaken..dude!

Loadshedding is very rare in my small city Of Jamshedpur in Jharkhand!
Week me 2 hours is max.

N Kolkata has very rare powercuts.
The sitaution in villages is improving too bro..atleast in Bihar.
I am not surprised that industrial areas like Jamshedpur have no power cuts. However I have been through 6 hour cuts(in villages) which stretched to 12 hours once in a while. Chennai suburbs have hours of painful power cuts even today. In Kolkata suburbs too, I have seen a few power cuts but much much better than Chennai and it was a few years ago.

I have heard of a similar free power scheme in Andhra Pradesh. But now it is watered down so much. Free power is applicable only for agriculture connections or for homes if there is just a 40W bulb(or such ridiculous load) in the home. Free power to agriculture itself is burden enough and there is power theft from agriculture connections. Now free power is not even applicable for all agriculture. It is applicable for only areas outside canal irrigated areas(which anyway don't need much power).

FYI agriculture power in Gujarat is also subsidized. But the good thing they did was to have completely different lines for homes and agriculture in villages.

Thanks for the info on UP. I will read up on it.

Free power is not socialism. It sounds more like the free ration queues in Communist regimes.
