The report placed Bangladesh at the 101st position, down from 99 in 2019

Japan’s passport has been ranked the best in the world amid the coronavirus pandemic, while Bangladesh’s passport has fallen out of the top 100.

The Henley Passport Index, which periodically measures the world's most travel-friendly passports, has just released its third report of 2020.

Japan sits atop the rankings, offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 191 destinations around the world. Singapore is in second place with 190 visa-free destinations, and South Korea ties with Germany in third place with 189 visa-free destinations.

Meanwhile, the report placed Bangladesh at the 101st position, down from 99 in 2019. Bangladesh shares the position with Iran with both countries offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 41 destinations.

In South Asia, the report this year ranked India at 85, down from 82 in 2019; Pakistan at 106, down from 104; Sri Lanka at 100, down from 96; Nepal at 104, down from 101; and Myanmar at 96, down from 95.

The United States and the United Kingdom currently holds the seventh place in the index, but under the current EU ban, Americans have around the same level of travel freedom as citizens of Mexico at 25 on the Henley Passport Index, and Uruguay at 28.

Although the United States was ranked sixth on the Henley Passport Index in 2019, its passport held much more access than it does in 2020 because it did not have the EU ban last year.

According to the index, the worst passports to hold in 2020 include North Korea at 103, Libya, Nepal, Palestinian Territory at 104, Somalia and Yemen 105, Syria at 107, Iraq at 108, and Afghanistan at 109.

Passport power means nothing.

If you can't afford visas then don't travel, period.

lets be honest here south asian passports are BS all of them . world consider is poor part of earth which looking a chance to run away from poverty .

Nobody wants desi anpad and gawars to come to their country easily and reap all the benefits.

We will go to Foreign countries on work visa, then bring wife there and then break the bed, have 6 kids in one small apartment and then live in poverty. This is what Desis do for generations in western countries, they live like rats.

But oh when they come back home to visit, they exude attitude, haam London mein rehte hai, bohot kuch ukhaad liya hamne, what they don't tell you is that they sweep streets in London.

Nobody wants our people, let's admit it.

We need to make our own place in the world.

It's better that they run, these haramkhors hate their countries and if they live here then they will do nothing except sit and complain all day.

It pains me to see that many Bangladeshis and I'm sure this applies to Pakistan as well :

They use their parents hard earned money or sell ancestral land to go abroad for university studies and then don't return back to home country.... Why because they're spoiled by Western lifestyle and home is now a 'shithole'....

I wonder, how will home stop being a 'shithole', if people aren't ready to make sacrifices for it and work towards its development.

Our countries would develop a whole lot faster, if these gaddars came back to their countries after education and actually used their knowledge to improve their home lands.

Sir, it is same in Bangladesh.

Politicians will bark and talk big here but kids will be living abroad and based abroad, they will visit kids every few months, the kids themselves never come to the country.

They live like kings living by stealing your and my money and yet they never even bring their kids to the country that pays for their lavish lifestyle.

All BD politicians have homes abroad and either a foreign passport or a permanent residence in western country, because when time runs out and new government comes in, they need to run as soon as possible and then the cycle repeats government after government.

They treat our poor countries as their personal gold mine and treat our people as if we are idiots.

One day and that day will come, we will make them pay each penny back.

Nawaz Sharif’s sons given 30 days to appear before anti-graft court in Panama Papers case

Pakistan’s ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s sons have been given 30 days to appear before the Islamabad Accountability Court in the Panama Papers case failing which they will be declared proclaimed offenders, the country’s anti-graft body said today.

The process of issuing red warrants for Hassan and Hussain, who are in the UK along with their ailing mother Kulsoom, will begin after the completion of one month if they did not appear before the accountability court in three corruption and money laundering cases, according to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The court is trying Hussain and Hassan along with their father Nawaz Sharif, sister Maryam and brother-in-law captain (retired) Muhammad Safdar in corruption cases filed against them by the NAB on the Supreme Court’s instruction in the Panama Papers case.

They have been given a 30-day deadline (till November 10) to appear before the court and the copies of the notice have been pasted at the Model Town and Jati Umra Raiwind residences of the Sharif family, it said.

Sharif’s sons will be declared proclaimed offenders and their properties attached if they failed to meet the deadline, the NAB said.

On the other hand, Hussain and Hassan have decided not to join the proceedings of the corruption cases against them.

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has said that Hassan and Hussain have chosen to invoke their British citizenship in order to skip the court proceedings in Pakistan.

“They are foreign citizens and Pakistani laws do not apply to them, therefore they are unlikely to join the court proceedings here,” says PML-N Senator Pervaiz Rashid.

Sharif’s sons had been doing business abroad for over two decades, their financial matters were open for scrutiny in Britain and Saudi Arabia, he said, adding that Sharif, Maryam and Safdar will continue to attend court proceedings.

On October 9, the Accountability Court in Islamabad ordered the NAB to initiate the process of declaring the former premier’s sons proclaimed offenders as they have consistently skipped the court’s proceedings in three graft cases pertaining to their Park Lane flats and the establishment of offshore companies.

Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law will be indicted tomorrow in the three corruption and money laundering cases.

Sharif had to step down as prime minister and president of the PML-N party after he was disqualified by the Supreme Court on July 28 in the Panama Papers scandal.

Sir, I know a little bit about this, near my apartment there is a Pakistani dhaba/restaurant, every Friday morning, I used to go there for getting paya and nehari which is Friday special, in that restaurant there is TV with Pakistani channel.

That's where I saw Junaid Jamshed plane crash news and also I think I saw shareef crying.

Don't remember much and not sure if he was crying but he was sitting in his home with media and saying something like 'I have suffered alot', 'Im sick now' and he almost looked genuine like crying but guy next to me said he was involved in a big corruption case and was either arrested or under house arrest.

Soon after I heard, nawaz sharif went to UK for 'healthcare' but was then enjoying there in cafe.... I don't know if I'm imagining things or I don't remember correctly but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Life time jail with hard labour and no medical care, just work him to death, execution of such people is a mercy.

I'm personally very non violent person and I don't promote violence but the only two crimes that piss me off and make me angry are child abuse and corruption.

For these two types of criminals, there should be no humanity or morals, treat them worse than a cockroach.

They deserve it.

Our countries are poor, these leeches make us poorer.

This is why suggest reform in political system of our countries, politicians when joining politics should sign a affidavit that they will not travel abroad unless for healthcare and the government should withhold their passports unless they're going somewhere on special visit.

And make sure that there children don't stay abroad, if they want to go abroad for studies, make sure to find out from where the finances are coming.

Also make corruption punishable by military law, no need civilian court for these people.

I know sir, I'm saying that needs to change, put travel restrictions on these people.

Actually if we choose the right people to lead us, they would never leave the country because they love the country more than anything but unfortunately we always make the wrong choices and elect the wrong people.
