There are a ton of different techniques and methods used that are all applicable. To most important thing is to be able to apply bits and pieces of each to match your situation.

They all are good answers just not the A+ ones.

Types of Clearances:

1. Dynamic Entry/Clear
Dynamic entry means using the basic principles i.e Speed, Surprise and Violence of Action to flood the space executing traditional Battle Drill. The idea is overwhelming force. You overwhelm the enemy as soon as you create a diversion.

Dynamic Entries are dangerous and should only be used when there are lives at stake for example Hostage situation. You prioritize the life of hostage above yours.

Going dynamic doesn't mean just rushing in. You are still moving at a speed your brain allows you to process information.

1-a Selective Clear:
Selective clear is used during Dynamic Entry especially during hostage scenarios.

Basically you bypass the less threat area just to get to the objective hard and fast.

2. Limited Penetration Method/Fight from Threshold:
As threats evolved close quarters combat evolved. Special Mission Units started to switch over to fight from the threshold then to go in a room which is a high risk.

Sorry about my hastily drawn illustration

Limited Penetration can and always go to dynamic entry. Just the Idea is you clear out much space before you feel like going to into the room itself.

First part of this video shows good demonstration of fighting from threshold

For achieving Limited Penetration Method you need to have a basic principles understanding how to pie the corner.

2-a Deliberate Clear:
Opposite of Selective Clear. As you are not in a hostage crisis. You are conducting a direct action raid or clear a structure you clear every nook and cranny of that structure.

Step Center or Center Check:
The idea behind center check is to before your rifle break that threshold you take a shot at the immediate threat in front of you. And as soon as break that threshold commit to your corner.
A quick Demo of center check

Button Hook and Path of Least Resistance

Establishing Points of Dominance:

Gun Maneuver / Fitting Rifle through threshold

An important thing to remember, while visual aids are a good teaching aid, the most important thing is to get out there and practice.

A good note to add is that room clearances should never be done alone. If you do it alone, you'll die quickly

What i find perhaps the most important is the angle coverage each man is responsible for. First guy goes in 2nd guys responsibility is to quickly sweep the angle the first guy didnt

I can tell you this......

I was taught EVERY WHICH WAY on how to clear a room in Ranger School and MOUT training. When I was in Afghanistan. We only ever clear room with 1 of 2 ways.

Clear by Grenade and Clear by Gun Fire........

You either chuck a frag inside first and then move in or have your saw gunner keep on sustained fire while entering the room, that way you don't have to spend 2 minutes to clear a room, time that you don't have in a urban fight.

I think most of these are more LE than Military.

It all comes down to this

Not a long time ago I was "teaching" hallways stuff to couple of friends with my exceptional MS Paint illustrations

Their is no need to clear a room if there is no room in the first place pulls out thermobaric grenade

I can't confirm or deny but some structures were cleared out with AT-4s and Gustavs in Iraq and Afghanistan
