Parrikar: LCA’s shortcomings addressed in its Mark-II version

well as i said before we dont care how much time it takes whats more important is owr ultimate goals and LCA is quite sucsessful in that part we would be last ones to care what owr enemies think of owr quest for that

Problem is your Air Force can't afford to waste more time and they would soon go for alternate even South Korean FA-50 will be better option than mighty LCA

.
As of this moment, F35s are being cranked out faster than hot dogs than East Hamptons.
good for you as both USA & UK are into making cutting edge fighter aircrafts for more than a centuray now while we are just come into it a few of decades back so there will be few teething problems cause niether do we have money or the expertise to do so like USA or UK

well what owr air force can afford or what it cant is none of any pakistanies problem as we are not asking for pakistani people to finance it or get soft loans for the same .... or are we :azn:

B.S. Give the program architects a blank check and a sharp deadline. Throw their asses out if they don't cant stick to the timeline.

Yes that's Why Government has sanctioned project for development of LCA Mk-II in 2009. Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) is the prime agency for development of LCA Mk-II with the private partnerships

Rather than investing couple of millions over a decade and keeping the program dangling between success and failure, why not invest some $1bn and make sure that it reaches it goal in a few years with full certainity?
its all about intent buddy and here im talking about top IAF brass who did every dirty trick in the book to kill any such homegrown development so they can get there commissions from such purchases from abroad and the main reason why LCA was delayed was contant goal posts changes by IAF

had they realli wanted it what stopped them from participating in the programme from the day one like what USAF does with its wepons contractors

easier said than done this is india my freind unlike USA where its all with private players in india its PSU's or goverment agencies and thats what is the real pain for us as there is no accounability :hitwall:

This project was never stalled because of Financial Constraints.

This Program got delayed because of lack of enthusiasm shown by the previous Government. People having vested interest block anything made in India and prefer Imported defense equipment for their personal gains in form of kick-backs and commissions.

Anyways People have elected a new dynamic Head to run India, who wants to 'Make in India' who has appointed an incorruptible technocrat as the project program Director . Lets see how the things pan out in couple of years.

.
This program makes Indians look stupid. I know people would jump on me for this comment but it's a sad truth.

 blashphemy:butcher:

this plane is already far better than any other in the neighborhood in its category.

The program was not stalled becuz of Financial constraints but technological ones like denial of Tech from advanced countries

Negative. The project has been stalled because there were no program managers with gumption to talk about the negatives in the meetings with air-force or defence secretary or w/e.

The shortcomings of indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas Mark-I, like its survivability, performance and maintainability issues, have been addressed in its Mark-II version, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar informed Lok Sabha on Friday. The minister’s statement on the technical shortcomings in the LCA project came at a time when he was talking of making the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) the backbone of Indian Air Force.

The minister listed absence of internal jammers affecting survivability, aircraft performance shortfalls and maintainability as concerns in the Tejas Mark-I.

Parrikar also added that the maintainability issues were raised by IAF late in 2009 when design and drawings were already frozen for Mark-I. “However, many safety critical maintenance issues are already addressed in Mark-II,” he said. The government had sanctioned project for development of LCA Mark-II in 2009.

The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) is the prime agency for development of LCA Mark-II with public and private partnerships. “All the above mentioned shortcomings in LCA Mark-I have been addressed in LCA Mark-II version,” Parrikar said.

So it means Design is ready to go. Looking forward to this totally different Tejas yet. Our rival is J10B so i expect lot of changes from the airfare itself. There are lots of rumors going around . we should add few more Tejas - MP1 till the MK2 arrives

Some critiscm of LCA is no doubt justified but without this dangling program we won't be freezing or close to freezing the design of MKII as this news indicates and as @Optimos Prime IA is guessing.

Shortcomings Described here are Not Even Available in your Mighty JF-17 Block-1,Block-2
