Paris luxury hotel owner says his hotel will not be open to Chinese tourist

Too noisy and lacking public manners.

Are Chinese getting the American rap now? Why hasn't he banned Americans? We are often characterized as loud and noisy, lacking knowledge of european etiquette, etc.

This just smells all kinds of fishy. Technically its his establishment, but this is sheer discrimination. I don't know the legal laws of France, but it sounds to me like he'd have to ban each Chinese tourist individually based on actual behavior.


This shouldn't reflect on France just yet though. Let's see if there is action taken by the courts.

:Edit: A technical quibble, this isn't racism as 'Chinese' does not constitute a race. It serves ultimately the same purpose as 90% of the population of the PRC are Han, but this is formally discrimination (on the face of things), not racism. If a first generation Chinese-American came to the establishment, supposedly they could get in.

I am concerned for every human that would not try to maintain their dignity.

If this were the case for Pakistanis, I wouldn't spit towards that hotel.

As an Indian, I hope you would also feel the same way.
