The Russians really had impressed with their big participation on the show, even though the main deals went to Airbus and Boeing, it was definitely good PR for Russia!

They really took advantage of the US's withdrawal from the event. The Russians have historically participated in the Paris airshow in a relatively large way though AFAIK.

They always presented some of their latest stuff, but this time they really pushed the limits. Something that I fould highly interesting was the Kamov Ka-62 helicopter. Great paintjob, high tech touchscreen cockpit and some interesting goodies ;):

@sancho ^^^ a nice paint-job for sure. I'm not sure how revolutionary it really is. And the touchscreens above the pilot's head seem to be OTT- touch screens for the sake of it. As a (wannabe/amateur) pilot let me tell you- for breakers, throttle controls and the like (which is normally housed above a helo pilot's head) the last thing you'd want are touch screens- most of the time you are working by feel and touch but with a touch screen you'd have to physically look up to locate the function you desired. For rotary wing pilots- this is a big no-no.

my 2c.
