Parading high tech Russian tank breaks down

.
Equipment break down from time to time; big deal.

It isn't exactly unexpected, as the Armata has yet to begin field trials. The very reason why testing and rehearsals are carried out is to iron out and prevent accidents like this, and it is better to have the tank suffer problems now than during the actual parade itself.

The engineers should be worried if the T-14 breaks down after having undergone years of testing, but not before. And there is nothing to suggest that this problem is inherently due to the technologies or designs of the vehicle, or that it cannot be fixed upon further development. This incident is being excruciatingly overhyped.

They've rushed them into the parade so they could flex their muscles to the world.

The thing didn't even pass the military trails. Also not a big deal I guess. China and Russia are following the principle "fake it until you make it" but time will prove if that is the case or whether it is "fake it and throw it in the garbage bin." I think this Armata project is very costly and it is going to fail.

It was just a dress rehearsal, and the tank became operational after 15 mins of halt.....Whats the big deal here? o_O

Maybe not promote it as a state of the art product when it is not even clear that it will be a succesful project?

The sanctions are biting in. They have to show their own people that nothing is wrong.

Please read my post again.

The fact that the T-14 suffered some problems without undergoing field trials yet shouldn't be of a major concern for its engineers. Whether Russia chooses to unveil the system before or after has no bearing on the final performance of the product, which will have undergone further testing and potential redesigns, as with any other system.

The T-14 hasn't started military trials yet, so it would be a tad difficult to judge whether it had passed them or not.

Military parades symbolize many things, out of which, a country's ability to churn out advance tech is one. Perhaps it's just a tech demonstrator, we don't know that, but, Russian technological progression cannot be ruled out.

Frankly I think T-14 is being rushed in. T-90MS is good enough. With the capabilities of T-14 ,its overkill and too expensive also. Better investment is torsionic weapons, tactical nukes and deep earth cities which Russia already specializes in . Plus super bioweapons like Ebolapox types.

Though the use of armata chassis for kurganets-25 and other vehicles is cost effective.
