Featured Pakistan's Shahpar II UAV Unveiled

.
How much different is this from burraq drone? They both can carry only 2 barq missile and shahpar II armed version can only stay in the air for 7 hrs. So how big of a upgrade is it from the already existing burraq drone the army had?
watching the video can help, but imo I just feel buraq is Chinese or kinda like JF-17 with both China,Pak working together and this one is our indigenous effort

nice , very good use of osint , i did some thing similar yesterday to find that PAF still has the P-12 Radars ( or a chinese copy of P-12 ) bought under the HQ-2 package from China still in service. P-12 served* as the primary early warning radar for SA-2/HQ-2.

True. Pakistan should look into micro munitions like Turks have for their drones. Since shahpar can carry 60 kgs on each side if we make micro munitions we can make it be able to carry 4 micro munitions or even more

It looks like it is a large enough drone for Overwatch duties of convoys in areas of higher potential miscreants, or for patrols along the borders, where potential smugglers (of contraband to anti-state groups) maybe active.
As I suspected, its approximatley equivalent in role and capability to a Reaper. 14 hours plus endurance, 200 kg or so payload.
Basically between a Predator and a Reaper in its capability.
Is that a Turbofan?

Piston most likely... No need for an expensive turbofan when a piston can do it cheaper...

In what world this looks garbage? Do you know amount of efforts it takes to reach capability to build shahpar 2 in house? We have effectively reached level to manufacture MQ1 predator type UCAV considering 10 years ago we were begging Yankees to provide us the very same drones. Please dont diss hard work of some of the brightest people in Pakistan in such a callous way.
Agreed except its closer to a Reaper than a Predator, being a MALE and all.

The service ceiling is 20,000 feet, bit high for a piston, especially one of this size. A Cessna 172 is 14,000 feet, this is nearly 50% more. It would be the most advanced piston.
On the other hand its perfectly within the range of an okay Turboprop.

There is still one battery deployed south east of old airport in Rawalpindi.

From the video (from 02:33 onward sequence), it is confirmed that the target was moving. Nice to see such a parameter in practical in the footage.
