Yes i agree with what you said but it will create a dependence of our industries with those market. We should first develop our own market oriented industries. We should become one of the market wanted by others. But yes having access to EU / North American markets should also be on the table.

400 % ? Are you serious bro ? Depends on from where are imported those luxury foods you want have 400 % taxes increase.

We have class which import, juices,water,soaps, cheese etc etc for daily consumption.

Ok but then it means that we don’t have those products made in Pakistan or we don’t have quality products or simply not good marketing for local same products if they exists at all.

Business is not only producing but how to create a brand.... and only brands become luxury.


So we should develop industries on luxury products first, then do a superb job of marketing, then why not increase 400% taxe. The taxes on importations are a kind of protection of national industries.

But increasing taxe on luxury products ? not at this stage.

The goal should be how to make our awam richer instead how to destroy the rich people.

I guess you are not aware of the very recent developments during this current government's tenure. MBS visited Pakistan and agreed to freeing Pakistanis in Saudi jails, hajj and Umrah visa stamps for Pakistanis are made relatively easier, he publicly made the statement that "consider me as Pakistan's ambassador in Saudi". And I don't know how asking to expand our manpower opportunities in those countries can be construed as us having a say in their internal affair?

GSP+ allows Pakistan to export products without duty or with preferential status. So it's harder for them to compete in the market with their products. They want to increase exports, and think this is unfair to their products.

Except sports which other products of our's can compete their's? Considering shrinking industry in Pakistan. Bangladesh may wish to replace our textile products, but Turkey? india may wish to replace our agricultural products but what else are we producing that can match them in quality?
