A paper ‘A Normal Nuclear Pakistan’ by renowned American scholars Tom Dalton and Michael Krepon states that within a decade Pakistan could have the third-biggest nuclear stockpile.

The 48-page report also mention that at the current pace Pakistan could end up producing 20 nuclear warheads annually.

This means, the report warns, in 10 years it could possess a nuclear arsenal nearing 350 weapons, the world’s third-largest stockpile after the US and Russia and twice that of India.

In contrast to Pakistan’s capacity to produce 20 nuclear warheads annually, India appears to be producing about five warheads annually.
The report said Pakistan operates four plutonium production reactors while India operates one.

The report added that given its larger economy and sizable nuclear infrastructure, India can outpace Pakistan in fissile material and warhead production if it chose to.

Pakistani’s primary means of delivering nuclear weapons, are through cruise and ballistic missile systems. A report, titled “Pakistan’s Evolving Nuclear Weapons Infrastructure”, has used commercially-available satellite images to identify ten Pakistani facilities, including five missile garrisons and at least two air bases, which have been used to assemble and house nuclear missile launchers.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has also expressed his worries about Pakistan’s nuclear expansion and said India is aware of it and is taking all steps to safeguard India’s national interest.
“The government is aware of reports on the expansion of Pakistan’s capability for fissile material production for nuclear weapons,” he informed the Lok Sabha.

Pakistan has a nuclear stockpile of between 130 and 140 nuclear warheads, according to a group of American scientists, whose tally is partially based on close scrutiny of satellite images and matches other recent estimates.

As per studies done at the University of Colorado-Boulder, and the University of California-Los Angeles, if both countries detonated 100 Hiroshima-sized bombs, it would generate between 1 and 5 million tons of smoke. This would drive temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere down to levels too cold for wheat production in much of Canada and Russia. And a 10 percent drop in rainfall would exhaust worldwide food supplies, leading to the starvation of up to 100 million or more people.

I thought khushab complex alone can build 40 50 nukes per year... i wonder where this analysis is coming from

to India, if you really worry then stop messing with us and we'll stop making them, so easy. but being the fucking Indians you are you will not and neither will we.

Pakistan should produce enough to wipe out bharat twice in case of aggression against Pakistan. Numbers should not matter.

Khalistan taking over entire India is more likely.
No, these guy's taking over Pakistan is more likely.

waste of money
No, I happen to think nuclear weapons are extremely cost effective. If India had not gone down the nuclear route and instead just got into a conventional arms race Pakistan would have been beaten or bankrupted. Now with nukes size does not matter, numbers do not matter. Pakistan should reduce size of conventional forces but build up the nuclear stockpile to about 350 where no country on earth can even dare contend causing problems with Pakistan.

To quote @Max build enough to nuke India twice over.

Does it really matters what we think about Pakistan ???

No, these guy's taking over Pakistan is more likely.

we must remember we MUST have enough weapons to toast india and its 1.2 billion population and neutralise the effect of any of our warheads being taken out through offensive or defensive indian actions

if that means 150 nuclear warheads then so be it we should concentrate on improving the warheads thereon after but if it means we have to build 500 warheads to destroy india and deter any other enemy then we need to be quick and build our 500

and place them on our coming subs, our missiles and bases ready to destroy any enemy that thinks they can screw us

Yawn!!! Same old pakistani rant. Build as many as you want doesn't matter much. We only need 10 nukes for Pakistan. Destroy pakistani punjab & whole of pakistan will automatically be destroyed.

Nukes from Pakistan aren't a worry. Its the terrorists .

The moment we neutralise it , 300 or 30,000 nukes with Pakistan , it is the same thing for us.

As for the rate of production , its just bare minimum. It will increase about 5 year down the line when we will be able to have 1 SSBN at patrol any time , 2 specialised Nuke Delivery Fighter Squadrons set up and Agni V and upcoming Short Range Ballistic Missiles ready.

For the moment , even 4-5 isn't required.

Back during the cold war time, Russia and USA were competing in making Nuclear stock pile. The Russians were the first to develop Tactical nuclear weapons I guess. USA in response made similar Tactical nukes but soon both of them are sane enough to understand that Tactical nukes pose a real threat because tactical nukes if mishandled i.e if a soldier decides to launch one out of anger or hatred, could trigger an all out nuclear war.

But the Americans and Russians have sanity.
Somebody is building more nukes without knowing its potential threat.
