LAHORE: Ghani Global Group has formally inaugurated its tubing glass manufacturing plant near Phool Nagar Bypass, District Kasur.

This is the first ever state-of-the-art European technology glass tubing plant of the country, completed with a cost of over Rs 1.4 billion. The plant is operated by foreign experts.

The company has imported brand new machinery from, world-renowned manufacturers of glass machinery from Italy, Japan, Germany, UK and China. Technical know-how and furnace design of the plant has been based on latest available European technology "Kimble" having handsome experience and patent name in glass tubing field.

Speaking to the inauguration ceremony on Thursday, Ghani Global Group Chief Executive Atique Ahmad Khan said that glass tubing manufactured by the company is import substitute and would save millions of dollars in shape of foreign exchange for the nation. He said that the glass tubes manufactured by Ghani Global Group is equal to European standard for pharmaceutical use, whereas the glass tubes being imported in Pakistan from China is not meeting international pharmaceutical standard.

"With the start of production at Ghani Global Glass, international standard would be available in Pakistan at competitive prices," he said.
The project is spread over on a vast area of more than 108 kanal at Lahore-Multan Road, Phool Nagar Bypass, District Kasur, behind the Ghani Gases Limited (an associated company).

Beside meeting domestic demand and curtailing import quantum, Ghani Global Glass is planning to export the glass tubing to Afghanistan and SAARC countries.

Albaraka Bank Country Head and President Shafqaat Ahmed was the chief guest of the ceremony, which was attended by former finance minister Dr Salman Shah, Ghani Group founding member Aitzaz Ahmad Khan along with leading bankers. All directors of the company were also present on the occasion.

Yes i know i have to pay for that . but by doing so, their industry is running. 1 running industry means thousands of jobs. Tens of thousands of people with a full belly. .
Now I am not saying they have a right to steal or something. . . But if we have a limited supply , i think its best if we use it to make glass tubes , or else we are gonna waste electricity on computer games and starplus anyway.

I say till we have enough power. Let these industrialists have bigger share

As a Pakistani Yes we seldom are happy but what the point of being happy Hurrah we have a first tubing glass plant who is going to steal gas ,evade taxes Huraah .I mean i dont know whats your profession and where you are located ,I am dealing with these sort of scum bags for last 5 years ,they literally employed slave labor in form of lower salaries ,no training ,no welfare or any thing ,this conglomerates are viruses for Pakistan its better not have these type of investors .Here just to cut short we have Textile sector whose fundamentals were wrongly establish now see where it is heading to hide there in competencies our currency is being devalued .So i hope you got my point as I have nothing against investment but i am totally against these chor type investors as they only provide security to themselves.

You don't see the likes of Malik Riaz and others who have produced millions of jobs ??? If they never started a business, these millions of people wouldn't have any work, for the past decade..........you don't think that's a good sign for millions to remain employed? That's how you grow the economy btw!!

In any country, the rich have tax holes they exploit, meaning, if you invest your money into something, you'll get a tax break. The idea is, to create more and more jobs!!!!

He has a valid point. The fact is that businesses that cannot act ethically and legally when it comes to paying taxes or utilities (stealing gas), will not act ethically and legally when it comes to manufacturing and selling products and services.

If such companies have no qualms about ripping off the government and tax-payers by stealing utilities, it's highly likely they'll deliberately cut corners and sell substandard products to consumers at some point in time. The negative impact of such businesses will then also be felt by other honest companies, who'll suffer because they can't compete on cost because they aren't cutting corners and aren't stealing utilities or taxes. If these businesses have relationships with foreign companies Pakistan's overall image gets damaged and other non-corrupt Pakistani businesses will suffer again.
