David Cameron's criticism has added to the resentment felt by a country that believes itself persecuted for others' mistakes, says Dean Nelson.




With a sigh of sadness, a senior American diplomat of Pakistani origin explained the contrasting standpoints of the two countries viewed through Washington's eyes: "Pakistan is consumed with its hatred of India, it thinks of little else but India. But India thinks little about Pakistan at all. It's busy globalising, its companies are launching international takeovers," he said.

This article actually makes me feel like the people of Pakistan have been royally scr***d over by the West on one side and their own leadership on the other. A sad state of affairs, indeed....

Well if starvation, floods, man made calamities and a full blown insurgency leave time to think about India, then we need to give the administration a medal for time management.

We have better things to focus on than India... Lets set the record straight, we are angry as a nation because we have sacrificed in excess of 2500 civilians and 396 soldiers since January 2010 fighting in this conflict, we have stationed 140,000 tropps along the western border (this has never happened before in our history)

If this is not a sign of a shift in the paradigm and our sincerity to this cause, then no matter what we do or say to prove our sincerity is a lost cause. This is a time when nations should be united in the support for Pakistan, instead of attempting to score cheap points at home and abroad.

Sorry Mr. Cameron but the damage is done.

Actually it is understandable that Pakistan is obsessed with India...what is not understandable and patently wrong in the article is the fact that India is also obsessed with Pakistan. And that is pretty sad considering how big India is.

No it's not, you're confusing it with The Times perhaps. However the DT is more right-wing than that.

However, it hasn't been too flattering to Ghaddari. Raising articles about his corrupt past like they have done today is very welcome.

Even their columnists have been supportive of us over the past week. It's not a paper I like, but I give them their dues over that.
