so we need a revolution get rid of the leadership, replace with a comittee for 20 years, ephasise on security so we are still around in 20 years and education, also rewrite the constitution and introduce our version of democracy in due course? what do you suggest? you normally speak sense whats your suggestions for patriotic pakistanis

Who leads the revolution and picks the committee? And instead of violence and protests on the streets, how about diverting that energy towards enabling and encouraging the electorate to show up on polling day and electing a new set of politicians?

A big problem in Pakistan is that, we , or some people, tend to think that if another person has a religion different to him, it is his bound responsibility to change that fact, by hook or by crook.
I dont care what religion the other person has, it does not interfere with me unless he does something in front of me , directly affecting me. It is his and Allah's problem, not mine , or yours, or Qadri's, we need to change this mindset.

My Dear, Laws are made 1400 years ago for all muuslims equally........these are jews law.....which we dont accept.
Our Prophet Muhmmad PBUH made best laws for us, then y r acting upon jew laws.........R u Jew or Muslim?
The one who dont accept Prophet PBUH laws is out of Islam.......Islam means U have to accept the rules and regulations of Islam.........simply if u join any department u have to act upon its rules n regulations U have to accept the laws of that department, same here I u say that u r Muslim U have to Accept Prophet Muhammad PBUH laws, else u r not muslim.

And if it is not mentioned in the Quran, why should we implement it or follow it?

Islamic parties to my knowledge have never got more than a few per cent of votes in pakistan elections. I think the people who are to blame are our political leaders that are weak and pandour to the whims of the biggots and fanatics who want to enforce their very harsh interpretation of islam on all of us. political leaders like bhutto in relation to ahmedis here we had an alcoholic pushing thru laws telling us who are muslims and not muslims

People don't vote for Islamic parties in pakistan 'cause they don't bring anything special to the table which other political parties are unwilling to provide .

PPP is called the most secular party of Pakistan . But its same party which declared Ahmadis as non-muslim. So anyone from a genuine secular country would the most secular party of Pakistan basically right wing .

A simple question to begin with,did you ,hear,read,find any muslim Involved in such things? Ever so how come one could stand up and speaks and hit our religion or prophet? The simple thing to shut them up and make them never do this thing again is sentence to death! if France can put a ban on women veil,(burqa) Switzerland can put a ban making minarets,neatherland can put a ban on slaughter of meat, if Pamela Gellar could start a movement called (rafuegefromislam.com)in America ,If terry Jones can start a movement (Burn Quran),so why d hell we cant make a low where at least we can stop propaganda against our religion in our own country guess some of you are completely lost your mind or just being hypocrite ,

I wholeheartedly agree with the spirit behind the statement but strongly disagree with the logic - after all, beheading and lashings is mentioned in Quran, should we follow that?

So how do we negotiate this maze - First lets always be mindful of context - a text cannot exist out of it's CONTEXT - secondly, men make the laws of men, that is to say for crimes, lets distinguish between Sins and Crimes - Sins are for God to judge, not men.

The Blasphemy laws are an abomination, because it construes sins as crimes and because it lends itself to creating disharmony in society and the miscarriage of justice, these are reasons to oppose them, not whether they appear in Quran or not..

Blasphemy laws at this stage are nearly impossible to amend. That too with PPP in power and Mr. Notorious at helm? You'll just drag the country into further chaos.

This will take a very slow process of democratically elected govt to come into power, educate the masses, strengthen the economy and give people job.

Right now people are very impulsive and go to extremes without a second thought cuz they feel they have nothing to loose. When people have education and most importantly work, they'd be thinking about their families and financial woes and leaving matter like these in the hands of the law. Only then can the law be amended or reformed.

Whoops, your argument just tanked. None of the "laws" or propaganda you mentioned results in the death or imprisonment of dissenters. Tell me, how does ONE nut in Florida who burns Qurans even slightly affect your life? Does your car stop running? Your goldfish die? All it does is make you feel angry, and frankly, that is YOUR problem.

Extremism? Look in the mirror. The thought of actually killing someone who insults Jesus makes me sick to my stomach, and would be a major sin in my faith.
