SKARDU, Pakistan — Pakistan's army chief says his country is ready for talks with India over resolving a dispute over a Himalayan glacier.

Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani's comments could signal a softening of the army's position toward a country with which Pakistan has fought three wars.

He says the dispute over the Siachen Glacier "should be resolved" and "how it is resolved the two countries have to talk about."

Kayani was speaking Wednesday in a rare question and answer session with the media after visiting the site of an avalanche near the glacier that has buried more than 125 Pakistani soldiers.

You can fight a country.. you can fight an army.. but you can't fight the nature. When nature decides knock sense into you... you don't have an option other than obey it's command!!

Pak army would be talking to Indian politicians...Interesting

So the Pakistani Parliament gets to "discuss" USA but not India bilateral relations? Hmmmm, interesting, to say the least. :D

Sia chin is part of pakistan illegally occupied by indians in 1984 like they did in kashmir.India has no case on siachin so it must vacate it by passing the ownership of siachin to pakistan.

YES SIR !!!

India is a very very important enemy...so the army gives the go-no go.

Well... it was evident from the recent bold statements by both indian & pakistan govts with regards to extending co-op in various trade initiatives, that there is back level talks going on already between India & PA's reps.

Coming back to issues being discussed in Pakistan parliament, I don't think that will happen anytime soon. Too much at stake for PA to relinquich that role.

When was Pak Foreign Policy towards India decided in its Parliament?
