Pakistanis should expect substantial decrease in salaries in 2020

The people of Pakistan are the only nation in the Asia-Pacific who will record a substantial decrease in salaries made next year on the back of rising inflation and depreciation of the Pakistani rupee, according to a report released by mobility consultancy ECA International.

The Salary Trend Report published by the group contends that the average real salary increase in Pakistan is expected to be negative, and employees will likely be worse off than they were last year. Lee Quane, Regional Director Asia at ECA International, has surmised these trends.

Quane explained, “The average real salary increase in Pakistan is forecast to be -3.0%, meaning that employees will be worse off than they were last year. Despite the nominal increase staying at a relatively high 10.0%, inflation has shot up as the rupee has depreciated.”

He added that the Inflation in Pakistan is forecast to reach 13.0% in 2020, exceeding the nominal increase and leaving workers out of pocket compared to 2019. However, the same is not true for other Asia-Pacific countries, especially neighbor and arch-rival India.

According to the report, India topped the table for average real salary increases in Asia, but now also tops the table globally for 2020. The average real salary increase is set to be 5.4% for workers in India, which is four times the rise expected in Hong Kong.

“Salaries in India are set to rise significantly, with the 5.4% increase almost four times as high as the expected increase in Hong Kong. Despite inflation rising slightly from 2019 and the economy slowing slightly, though workers can still expect more increases” said Quane.

Workers in China are set to see a real salary increase of 3.6% in 2020, while UK workers will receive a lower real salary increase in 2020 as compared to the previous year. Overall, the global average salary increase stands at 1.4% and the Asia-Pacific average increase is 3.2%.

. . . .
PTI has been at helm of power in Pakistan for the last 15 months.

For how long should people of Pakistan be expected to suffer under Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf imposed poverty?

You think this happened due to PTI's policies? LOL You can thank PML-N and PPP for the economic mess in Pakistan.

Listen Indian I am sick of you posting everybit of bad news you can find from obscure sources as gloom and doom.
All these issues are transient and do not reflect long term trend or even threat.

Are you missing a chromosome or something?

15 months is a long time for you guy? This is not harry potter where you swing a wand and gold flows from your arse.

Do not spread mischief by spreading misinformation. The major financial hubs of Pakistan were always under the control of PMN and PPP. So for you to somehow imply that this is PTI's fault is irresponsible.

PMN and PPP are both ran like a criminal organization. They both have eroded the institutions of Pakistan while robbing the people hand over fist.

The rat Nawaz is now sick but his party has been in power for how long in Punjab? and they have yet to build a hospital where he himself can get propper treatment. Its people like you that have fucked Pakistan for so long and now you are having a hard time bearing your own fruits.

What have you done in 15 months that is noteworthy? let us know that...

Yeah I know. PM Khan inherited a bad economy, he was given a bad team and he was too busy plotting his u-turns.

But, you're right, he deserves better. Maybe, PM Khan should have been the President of the United States or the Prime Minister of Japan or the Chancellor of Germany and there, he could've definitely fullfilled all his crazy promises.

The effects of 10+yrs of corruption cannot be undone in 24mnths, let alone 15.

What corruption exactly?

Federal Budget 2019/2020
Total Budget: $35 billion
Debt Repayment: $20 billion (60%)
Defence Budget: $10 billion (30%)
Rest of Pakistan: $5 billion (10%)

Or are you talking about the corruption when PM Nawaz Sharif gifted the nation with a $61 billion CPEC investment which by the way appears to be on hold / being indefinitely reviewed for the last 15-months?

All of PTI's economic policies have been sound and desperately needed. They did state that in the short term it might get rough but these measures were desperately needed given the situation noon league had created.

Appear to be going on for the past 15-months and no change in sight.

When exactly is Pakistan's GDP Growth Rate going to return to 5.2% which was achieved under the previous PML Government than the current 2.5% under the current PTI Government?

as long as common sense states so..
which is about 3-4 years..

the current inflation is due to high state bank note printing last 5 years including the first year of PTI govt, this year it has stopped but govt was forced to print last year because it wanted to adjust interest rates first before revenues can pick up

now any one who can add will understand that inflation lags about 24 months, thus expect high infaltion for year 2020 and 2021

these projections were made in 2018..obviously the ones who make projection use maths not
magic

Honestly you are so bloody stupid that I will have to stoop to the level of an idiot to argue with you. Seriously you have no shame . You have been proven wrong, proven liar and outright blue less but you wish to argue with me and were my time. Why don’t you crawl back to Modi’s rear end where you came out from.

For starters IK is doing an amazing job in getting economy back on track.... everyday there is a good news except that you are blind with prejudice and cannot see...
