Let me enlighten guy's on other little known fact. Western history has mulched Greek history and all those blond haired, blue eyed boys in North West of Europe make it look like Greeks were like them. That is as false like when the Indian's mulch us by using our land as the basis of their history.

I know today Greece is in Europe and is like a beggar that Blond Blue eyed boys feed thus the Greeks sing the song that feeds them.

However when they Greeks were great they in fact were a levantine power and all their linkages, history, wars and relationships were with Persians and Eygptians in other words the eastern world. Look at Alexander, he did not even know what Germany was or what Norway looked like. That is why when he set of to conquer the known world it looked like this in yellow.

The Greeks looked east and had their backside turned on Europe which as a geograhic construct did not even exist then. Today the Greeks look west and have their back turned on Asia. This is something to be aware of. This is not like 'Ghora' of what you know today. The truth is that Alexander probably looked more like Pakistani actor like Abdul Manan but the West has built up another version of blond blue eyed supremacy. They have spun entire legends about the Greeks whereas like they think Greeks are their 'Chacha'. @WAJsal As humans we are all connected. We all belong to the same species. Non of us in Pakistan are European. That does not make us Indian's either. Was there some genetic contribution by Greeks? Yes, there was. However 2,000 years later you can't call any single person 'European' in Pakistan. That is frankly ridicalous. If you went to Norway and married there after 2,000 years people would hardly call your decendancts 'Pakistani'. Whatever Pakistani contribution would exist would be so small like a drop of milk in Tarbela Lake. You know it is there but you can't very well call the water milk or hope to see any signs of milk.

However as a lay observation the fact is average mode of northern Pakistan population or Pashtun's for that matter is nearer to European populations then say Telagu, Tamil, Orrisan, Malayalm and all the other heroes from India. That is subjective obsevation. I have a family member in Greece and sometimes I go over to Greece for holiday.

There are Pashtun's, Hindkho speakers from Hazara, Azad Kashmiri and Punjabi from Jhelum, Sarai Alamgir area in large numbers. In the order I have shown here many are almost indistinguishable from many of the local Greeks.This does not make them Greek or European. Even some of those Bollywood actors would blend in Greece. Clearly they are more similar to the Greeks then heroes from Talagu. It is just plain common sense. Even Bollywood directors know this .....

And why oh why does everybody want make connections to land of Pakistan. Like @Pakistani Exile said we have Greeks, Macedonians, Indian heroes ( my term for non Punjabi Indian's ) Sri Lankans all wanting to take a bite on our land? Now let's get a few facts out of way. The Greeks did have impact on Pakistan far more then they did in Britain, Germany or Norway. These countries were almost all beyond the Greek horizon. Today they have almost copied everything from the Greeks.

Almost all of Pakistan was part of Alexander's empire and subsequent to that Bactrian greeks built up a kingdom in what is north west Pakistan. Some of it overlapped into Kabul area. However Peshawar, Taxila and the area of Pakistan's capital Islamabad was Greek ground zero. A Greek dynasty ruled this area and left impressive relics in Sirkap including coins and ruins of Taxila. Have a look at the Greek ground zero so you know exactly what we are talking about. For those Pakistani's who live in Islamabad Taxila is 5 minute drive on the suburbs. Take time and visit it. Taxila Museum has treasure trove of historical artifacts including coins from that period.

They can only claim the physical entities left behind by the great Sindhu-saraswati civilization but the truth is that the SSC civilization still lives through us, the hindus of india.
