AMRITSAR: In an unprecedented incident, Pakistani visitors hurled stones towards Indian viewers gallery at Attari international border during beating retreat ceremonyon Sunday.
According to reports, Pakistani civilians, who had arrived to witness the ceremony, atWagah border hurled stones towards Indian viewers gallary while shouting pro-Kashmir slogans.
Notably, Border Security Force (BSF) had banned visitors entry to witness the ceremony after India issued an advisory to evacuate all villages falling within ten kilometer range of international border on September 29, but on Sunday BSF had allowed a few visitors to witness the same.
BSF sources, seeking anonymity, not only confirmed the incident but also informed that for past few days Pakistani visitors had been shouting anti-India slogans.
Sources informed that a flag meeting between BSF officials and Pak Rangers was held after the ceremony wherein BSF lodged its protest with Pak Rangers.
"They have assured us to investigate into the incident, but we don't believe they will really investigate , we are of view that Pak Rangers themselves instigated the viewers to throw stones toward India. Years ago rockets were fired on our side and Pak Rangers had out rightly rejected that they had originated from their soil" said sources.
