They are only commie on paper. No serious person sees them as a communist country.

They are no more "authoritarian" than Western countries with their big-government/nanny-state policies. The only thing that makes them more authoritarian is that they have no free elections. Other than that they are just as authoritarian as the West except on differing topics.

You can but not too much in public and media. Not to the point they get concerned. But the fact is their authoritarian regime saved their country from becoming another hellhole like India by controlling overpopulation and investing in education & gender equality.

They are not as "near perfect" like Singapore because the population there is even smaller but they can easily compete against Europe when it comes to living standards.

Comparing China to India is like comparing Europe to Africa.
