You know what's the biggest anomaly in the Canadian immigration process..... if person A is living in Canada on a work permit he can invite his wife over from Pakistan also on a work permit through a simple process and processing time is 2-3 months.
However, if person B is a Canadian or Permanent Resident and his wife is living in Pakistan, the only way he can bring her over is through family sponsorship which is a long, difficult process and for Pakistanis it takes 12-14 months for processing. Only advantage is wife gets a PR and not a work permit with expiry date.
