In a news story today, the victim stated that she had not rejected anyone (that this was not an ex-boyfriend or marriage proposal rejection type situation)

It is possible this was racially motivated or possibly motivated by the toxic anti-minority echo chamber that some out of work or envious or mentally ill people fall into.

it could be similar to the case of a Peruvian immigrant attacked by a Milwaukee white guy who threw acid on his face after saying the Peruvian had “invaded his country”.

let us hope criminal is arrested .

Latest update is that the police suspect this as hate crime. So it seems like it is someone who targeted them for their race...

Still have my house in long Island, I never knew it went to the dogs.

But acid attacks, during my long stay in the west I rarely came across a reported incident of acid attack be it the gora, the kala or the brown.

However, its a rampant disease in our part of the world particularly our east and us are notorious in this inhuman practice. Emanates from the sick psych "if not for me then not for anyone else" you know what I mean.

If it were a racial hatred crime there would have been more incidents like this on long Island particularly jackson heights, less so in upscale areas. But since this seems like a one off incident an most likely its a disgruntled wannabe desi ars**le.

As for what should be done, such people should be apprehended and send to a federal penitentiary where they should spend their lives as girl friend to a kala, with twice daily active service to the kala.

Sir you have analyzed it very nicely! I couldn`t agree more. However, the news did alarm me and I thought to let you know in case it is a start of something ugly.
@Adonis too has a valid point that the mother was along but was unharmed; hence it is not a racial attack.

Acid attack on women, this sounds very familiar. I have full doubt that this attack is carried out by a south Asian and probably the person knows the victim. This is not just a random hate crime.
