"Noah Rabbani" sounds like a Christian pakistani. Can any pakistani confirm ?
Completely wrong .
They didn't do it for religious reasons , taleban foreign minister gave an interview about it that an Italian or Sweden company was spending 4 million dollars to rebuild the statues , taleban requested them to give this money for people's health and medical as the area was in a urgent need of medical and other facilities . But those Europeans didn't listen them and didn't give a pie for health rather spent it all on these lifeless statues .
So taleban noticing their arrogance destroyed their statues .. destroyed their selfishness . !!
It was more like -- “Hey dude! The infidels built these statues.. And these statues are haram in Islam, so let's blow them up.. Who cares for the religious rights of the infidels..eh?"
Oh really? If islam is involved in this act then why don't destroy these statues in past 5000 years . Those statues had thousand history , why didnot muslims destroyed them then ? Or why didn't muslims destroyed it when Afghanistan came under islam federation during caliph umar r,.a ? Why now ?
Plz clear your misunderstanding about islam .
Oh the same mullah umar who then refuted it by saying ,Yaar mujhe to bewakoof banao nhi paaoge... Kam se kaam khud ko to mat banao..
This is what Mullah Omar, the Taliban chief said in an interview with time magazine after the demolition of Bamiyan statues --- “Muslims should be proud of smashing idols. It has given praise to Allah that we have destroyed them"
!
And BTW, the Taliban were discussing the destruction of the statues since as far back as 1997. It wasn't a spontaneous decision taken in righteous rage as you claim. That was just a silly excuse that the Taliban envoy to US gave when they were under immense condemnation for their dreadful act.
One more thing, the Taliban weren't the first one to try and destroy the statues.. Religious zealots like Aurangzeb and Nadir Afshar had tried to destroy them as well, using cannon fire. Thankfully, the Bamian statues were carved into the face of a huge mountain. Cannon fire proved to be woefully inadequate to destroy them. Later, Abdur Rehman Khan managed to destroy the face of the statues. Even the Taliban had to use huge amounts of carefully placed explosives (inside many holes that were drilled in the statues), anti-tank mines, anti-aircraft artillery etc in order to destroy the statues... So, It wasn't due to lack of malicious intentions that the statues survived the Islamic conquerors, they were simply incapable of destroying the statues till the Taliban finally did.
So there goes another one of your claims in the dust..!!
Yeah, we will phone him up for you and ask personally.
Oh the same mullah umar who then refuted it by saying ,
" I did not want to destroy the Bamiyan Buddha. In fact, some foreigners came to me and said they would like to conduct the repair work of the Bamiyan Buddha that had been slightly damaged due to rains. This shocked me. I thought, these callous people have no regard for thousands of living human beings -- the Afghans who are dying of hunger, but they are so concerned about non-living objects like the Buddha. This was extremely deplorable. That is why I ordered its destruction. Had they come for humanitarian work, I would have never ordered the Buddha's destruction'".
I don't see him justifying this act through islam .
Infact when some ignorant taliban were then discussing to abolish it on name of Islam , Mullah omar completely opposed it .
he actually ordered it when swedish monuments wasn't going to give money to hungry children and it was in rage , not in name of Islam .
They've been discussing it but mullah omar being the head of taleban didn't allow them to create any harm to budha .
Ask yourself , if mullah omar had do to that in name of Islam , he would've done that back then when it was under discussion .
Abdul Wahed, a Taliban commander operating in the area, announced his intention to blow up the Buddhas in 1997 even before he had taken control of the valley. Once he was in control of Bamiyan in 1998, Wahed drilled holes in the Buddhas' heads for explosives.
He was prevented from taking further action by the local governor and direct order of mullah Omar, although tyres were burnt on the head of the great Buddha. In July 1999, Mullah Mohammed Omar issued a decree in favor of the preservation of the Bamiyan Buddha statues. Because Afghanistan's Buddhist population no longer exists, so the statues are no longer worshipped, he added: "The government considers the Bamiyan statues as an example of a potential major source of income for Afghanistan from international visitors. The Taliban states that Bamiyan shall not be destroyed but protected."
So most probably taliban didn't demolished them on name of Islam rather when being criticised from fellow muslims they used name of Islam .
I'm not going to defend raiders like aurangzeb or nadir shah who used to break temples and statues only for the reason that they would loot and plunder the wealth protected there . Such practise has no place in islam to break temples or statues only for reason that they'll get money . It's not in name of 'Islam ' .
Tradition of Islam doesn't support such breaking of statues and temples etc .
Best examples are the 4 first caliphs of Islam who didn't order any destruction of statues when they conquered countries like Egypt , persia . Of breaking statues was applicable , caliphs would've broke statues in Egypt , persia . These statues were symbolism of culture and tradition not idolatry so there's no order from islam to demolish them .
So breaking statues has no any agreement with islam .
Coming to PDF, you must realise that we're not going to blame each other religions here because even existing hindu and Indian members know here that such distasteful activities have no place in islam .

Hamilton teen in ICU recovering after “savage beating” with baseball bat
Noah Rabbani
Noah Rabbani, 15, faces "a long road to recovery."
Hamilton Spectator
By Natalie Paddon
A 15-year-old Hamilton boy is in recovery postsurgery for a blood clot on the brain after being robbed and beaten with a baseball bat over the weekend.
"He was just savagely beaten," Salima Hafeez, Noah Rabbani's aunt, said Wednesday. "It's just heartbreaking — it's so meaningless, it's so senseless."
The family of the Grade 10 Saltfleet Secondary School student believes the attack could have been motivated by hate or race because of his skin colour.
Rabbani is Muslim and of Pakistani descent, Hafeez said.
She has no evidence to suggest the crime is racially motivated, but Hafeez says the circumstances of the assault are suspicious.
"Every bone in my body is hoping it's not hate and race-related because my mind doesn't even want to go there."
Hamilton police say there is no evidence to suggest that at this point in the investigation.
Rabbani was walking to his grandparents' place from a friend's house around midnight Sunday when two men jumped out of a car that pulled up beside him near Fletcher and Rymal roads, Hafeez said.
One of the men started beating him with a baseball bat.
The men made off with Rabbani's backpack, which Hafeez said contained only books and a water bottle. Then they took off.
Neither his phone nor his watch was taken, Hafeez noted.
After the attack, Rabbani came to on the sidewalk, feeling confused and disoriented. At first he thought he may have fallen and hit his head, Hafeez said.
But as he walked to his grandparents,' the memory of what happened started coming back to him. He eventually had a seizure and an ambulance was called, she said.
Rabbani has been in the intensive care unit ever since.
In addition to the blood clot, his short-term memory has been affected. Several of his teeth were broken and the right side of body was injured so he cannot write, Hafeez said.
"It's basically a long road to recovery," she said. "He's going to need extensive physiotherapy."
Rabbani is an amazing student who is well-loved by his school community, Hafeez said.
"He likes his academics, but he is also active," she said, noting he likes to hang out with his cousins and brothers and play basketball.
"He's a gentle soul because he's got younger siblings and he's very caring toward them."
Hafeez said she's concerned about how the attack could affect Rabbani's future.
"We don't know how this is going to affect him psychologically, physically, mentally," she said. "You can't just walk away from this without having some sort of long-term impact."
Police described one of the suspects as about five-foot-six with a thin build and the other as about five-foot-eight. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Mike Hall at 905-546-4947.

The claim that “Europeans had declined to give funds for hungry children" was used as a face-saving excuse when Taliban were subjected to International thu-thu for the destruction of the statues.. Even the Taliban didn't really expect anyone to believe this shit. They just wanted to have an answer whenever some foreign journalist grilled them about the incident. Please go through the statements of Afghan foreign minister, who categorically states that this was just an excuse..
Moreover, as I asked you earlier, if the Taliban indeed destroyed the statues for humanitarian purposes as they claim, then why didn't they accept the Japanese offer of buying the statues in return for hard cash. They could've fed the children using that money..no?
Aurangjeb and Nadir Shah tried to destroy Bamiyan statues for gold and plunder..? Now this is news to me... I never knew there was gold hidden beneath the desolate mountain statue. Or maybe you're just trying to defend the indefensible.. You claimed in your earlier post that Bamiyan statues hadn't been attacked before the Taliban era, even when Afghanistan was in Islamic control.. I just gave you a few examples of regimes who did indeed try to destroy the statues before the Taliban even existed.
I don't care what Islam says or what Quran says.. I care about what the followers of Islam do. Words in a book don't affect me. Actions of men do. So stop with this sanctimonious lecture of what Islam preaches and what every verse in Quran is “supposed" to mean.
Stop defending the actions of barbaric A-holes like Taliban.
BTW, it wasn't me who brought Bamiyan Buddhas into the discussion.. You did. It wasn't me who tried to portray the actions of Taliban as somehow justified in a perverted sense... You did.
