Fully agreed. I bet he cannot even imagine as to what he's started. It's going to be downhill from here unless somebody more rational takes control of the media affairs. It's horrifying to say the least.

I believe the political parties in power are letting it continue because psychologically they think that this "electronic media" is a shield against military intervention . They think this media will save their hiney in case of military adventurism something which I don't agree to, because in case of military take over the media will be silenced immediatley. So that is a false premises on part of political parties. The level of "freedom" or rather "awargi" of pakistani electronic media is unprecedented in the history of not only pakistan but anywhere in the world.

Yeah I know. The parties are drunk on this 'free' notion. It seems that they got carried away while being scared deep inside. They and their spokes persons are misusing their power to OUR detriment though. I hope something is done to stop this onslaught. For example I've seen some Pakistani presenters try to make some absurd cases against Pak Fauj and Intelligence. Sometimes it seems like you're watching Bharati media lol

Aaj news is also sold channel.... Government should officially declare aaj news as PTV1 and Geo news as PTV2.

I have said in many threads that Pakistani media has too much freedom but no professionalism.

Politics aside, give me one Pakistani Urdu news channel on par with Al Arabiya, Al Jazeera, CNN, BBC. Compare how they prepare and show reports and prepare and show news bulletins.

Pakistani media is like a monkey to whom you show a kungfu movie every day for a week and then giving it a real sword and let it loose.

The number of breaking news on Pakistani news channel in a week is many many times more than the number of breaking news of the above four channel combined for 1 month.

Pakistani channels are copy cat of Indian channels ...............
