Pakistani Hindus in Jalandhar meet district magistrate, demand Indian citizenship

.
While I understand many of them have Indian children now so there's no going back, why would you suggest the govt should treat them differently than say, the Somali or the Bengali refugees here?

Any religiously persecuted community is welcomed here n m not hiding behind religion to suggest of granting them Indian citizenship......

.
Its expected.

The term Hindu is now associated with India, not on the basis as a religion.

For example in threads relating aggression between 2 nations, even the admin of this forum uses the word Hindu ( or the more convenient term of recent times Hindutvadi )instead of nation's name while addressing India.
Its because of the ideology of Pakistan which was based on a component of hate against India and the Hindus since the partition days.
For upholding this ideology its essential to paint Hindus as negative as possible.

Again you wont find an Indian calling Pakistan Army as Muslim army but you can find most Pakistani's have no problem calling Indian Army as Hindu. If we say there are many Muslims and Christians in the army, they counter it by calling them slaves.

The story of Pakistan’s past is intentionally written to be distinct from, and often in direct contrast with, interpretations of history found in India. From the government-issued textbooks, students are taught that Hindus are backward and superstitious. This is reflected in the posts we see on daily basis here on the forum.

When viewing anything and everything through the prism of religion ....there are only two types "our kind and enemies".

PS: China as a buddhist and atheist nation are given exemption from this categorization due to various reasons unknown and due to the choice factors.

There are too many of them for us to handle in that case

Funny, some people who were born and brought up in other countries considered as Indians because of their religion and people who were born and brought up here were considered as outsiders because of their religion..

No there is clear distinction here "Persecuted for their different faith by majority in their respective country" .....
Indian has been home for such people for thousands years n Parsi of Gujarat is one of them....

There are too many of them for us to handle in that case

Very few communities (Mostly South Asian) are seeking such privileges not every persecuted from all over the world...

@SpArK , I could not have written it any better. This is what we see everyday here. They will see every other thing with the prism of religion. A business man gives his employ modest gifts on Diwali, senior member ask "Was there a MUSLIM employee or just all HINDU" !! IA rescues stranded people in Kashmir floods, ladies and children first, here our Pakistani frnds speculate nefarious intention of IA men in that,"They left MUSLIM men to die." they say !! Same stranded people where distributed free food from different parts of India in a Herculean effort, Pakistanis over here ask if the food is eligible to be eaten by a musalman !!!

Had they themselves taken care of their minorities such, like they are expecting us to do so , they would have much better situation with their minorities. But instead they make fun of our diverse society and secularism (though I believe we can do better, but our effort at secularism is eons ahead of anyone who has implemented it.).
