Hidden by the Native Jetty Bridge, the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir is one of the famous temples in Karachi frequented by the Hindu community. Although devoted to the deity Maha Lakshmi, the temple is a sanctuary to statues of Hanuman, and Saii Baba of Shirdi as well. Hindus from all over Karachi come to the temple to pray and make offerings to the gods, with a dip in the waters of the Arabian Sea to cleanse them of their sins.

Come Saa’wan (monsoon) season, the temple is filled with women who fast, hoping for the well being and long lives of their husbands. Their pooja thalis carrying an assortment of knick knacks symbolising them to be married include sindoor (red powder dye put in hair to symbolise a married woman), bangles, flowers, milk, water, jewellery, rice, an oil lamp and their mannats. Once the prayers are done, these items are cast away in the water, with the hope “long lives my better half”. – Text and photos by Anahita Hashmani

. . . .
How many Hindus are there in Karachi?

Well according to wikipedia there are 1,800,000 Hindus in Pakistan and 77,131 of those Hindus live in Karachi.

I don't think the recent census numbers are out yet, so its hard to say.

They are fasting on the occasion of "Teej". Women fast praying for long life of their husbands. In fact my mother has been fasting, and she just finished with it. The fast is broken after they see the moon. "Teej" is more popular in Sindhi and Rajasthani Hindu households. In other north Indian states, "Karvachauth" is more popular compared to "Teej"

That is completely wrong:

There are 6,842,526 Hindus in Sindh, 349,230 in Punjab, 21033 in NWFP/KPK, 117,345 in Balochistan. Add them up, you get over 7 million Hindus in total. For a complete breakdown by district & region:

.: Pakistan Hindu Council :.

.
There are about 7.5-8 million Hindus in Pakistan, out of which, 6.6 million Hindus are in Sindh. There are a lot of Hindus in Karachi, & many of them are successful business owners, bankers, doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs etc.

Dont forget our judiciary , many hindus are senior judges

Well it is wikipedia, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is wrong.

When the Pakistan census numbers comes out, we'll have a better picture. But yeah for now I would go with the number provided by the Pakistan Hindu Council, they should be fairly accurate.

Here are some more pictures of Pakistani Hindus taken by Indian Photo Journalist Sanjoy Ghosh of Outlook Traveller Magazine. It is also shows 2 famous Hindus of Pakistan - Satish Anand (Juhi Chawla's Uncle and owner of Everready Studios) - He has released over 450 Pakistani films and his father J.C. Anand was a rich Sindhi Hindu who also produced many Pakistani films. The picture also shows Deepak Parwani who is a famous fashion designer of Pakistan.

May Hindus of Pakistan prosper forever! :D :D

the minority groups like the Hindus in Pakistan have time and time again displayed their patriotism and loyalty to Pakistan

we should only care about people and judge them based on their loyalty to the state, not on just religious beliefs (which are personal anyways and shouldnt even be MENTIONED in public)

if anyone disagrees with that, they must get their heads examined

May our people prosper.
