Something that many people including myself have suspected for a long time is now coming out in the open. After the Lal Masjid episode I was convinced that some elements in the ISI were in cohorts with the Lal Masjid thugs.

I hope that I am wrong but it insults my intelligence that TTP were able to carry out attacks Karachi corps Commander Convoy, Army GHQ, PNS Mehran & PAF Kamra and killing of Police cadets without active inside intelligence and support.

Chilling details have emerged how extremist groups, especially the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), are now using serving policemen to eliminate their colleagues who are deemed as a threat to these anti-state organisations. The recent arrest of an inspector of the Anti-Violent Crime Cell in Karachi last week comes at a time when the entire country is on a high-alert because of the forthcoming general elections. The inspector, who is believed to be a supporter of the TTP, has confessed to killing an assistant sub-inspector and other fellow policemen. The ASI who was gunned down in January this year was actively involved in operations against militants. It has also been reported that the inspector has revealed during interrogations that several other policemen are also serving as moles for militant groups. It is a disturbing development because in their war against terror the last thing that our security agencies need is their own people carrying out ‘inside jobs’ on behalf of the militants.

The inspector’s arrest and his confession could be just the tip of the iceberg. There are fears that the infiltration of militants’ supporters and moles in the police ranks is quite deep. Stories of policemen becoming partners in crime are not new. It is an open secret that even in various gang wars that have seen several parts of Karachi being held hostage by criminals, bad cops siding with various warring groups have been involved. The cop-criminal nexus is a pressing issue that needs to be tackled on a war footing. The Supreme Court is playing its role by taking up the issue but a lasting solution to this problem can only be achieved if the concerned authorities carry out a ruthless ‘operation clean-up’ within the police ranks. Of course they would need the complete backing of the government and politicians to achieve this task. It won’t be an easy job but it is something that has to be done. Otherwise the chances of a police force infected by ‘black sheep’ crushing heavily-armed militants are bleak.

London - Secret agencies are probing five prisoners for allegedly plotting attacks on army convoys and senior military officers, BBC reported on Wednesday.

A civilian intelligence agency has shifted the five prisoners, detained at Bahawalpur and Adiala prisons for the past three years, to undisclosed locations for investigation. The detainees are suspected of having links with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and feared Ghazi Force militant groups.

According to the report, the prisoners are being probed for involvement in plots to attack military targets as well as conspiring to abduct senior military officials and their family members to get their demands approved.
Sources told BBC that the suspects were picked up for communicating with their partners in Miranshah and Kohat via phone. They were allegedly issuing directions to coordinate attacks on the army and paramilitary forces.
According to sources, the inmates were talking to a man, Moazzam, in Miranshah and two other men, Kafeel Khan and Javed Marwat, in Kohat.

They were allegedly directing them to attack on army and paramilitary forces in the area. They also directed the men to abduct the family members and children of army officers, particularly on their school-route.
Waheedullah and Tauqir are among the three prisoners taken from the jail in Bahawalpur.

It is said that they were arrested in 2009 from tribal areas under the charges of targeting military convoy and
considered experts of making homemade bombs and other explosive devices.

Earlier, they were kept in Adyala Jail but later were shifted in Bahawalpur where other accused of attacking military convoys were detained. The intelligence officials are also trying to locate those men with whom the inmates communicated and directed them to carry out attacks.

The authorities in Adyala Jail did not comment on the development in this regard.

Last year, a brazen attack on the central jail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district resulted in the escape of over 300 prisoners. The freed inmates also included Adnan Rasheed, a high-value militant and the main suspect in a terrorist attack on former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.

In the US we don't have regular suicide bombing or crazies like TTP roaming or radical insurgency fighting against government, bombing schools, and all this mess in Pakistan. Pakistan has to take strong measures and that means getting personal with TTP and going after their close-ones.

You're just a softy and apologetic about your Pashtun TTP brothers, if you want to win this war then PA has to dismantle the whole tree not just the branches.

Our pakistani society is divided along religous and seculer lines. I would not be surprised if religous elements within army are uneasy about policies of their own army. That adnan rasheed was in PAF , participated in failed musharaf assassination plan, got jailed and then got rescued by TTP and now with long hairs and wearing waziri cap, he is giving threat to musharaf in english in the video....
I dont know how ISI operates, we dont know whether it is official policy of agency or some "traitors" within ISI are operating on their own, to support "good talibans"...may be zia ul haq had founded secret islamic cell within ISI to make sure that islamic interests within and outside army are protected

Crossfire: Three killed as police, militants clash in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: At least three people, including two policemen were killed in a raid conducted on a suspected militants’ hideout in Saddat Town area of Yakatot police station, Peshawar on Wednesday.

The intelligence agencies had informed the police that suicide bombers, equipped with suicide vests, hand grenades and pistols had reached the city and were taking refuge in a hideout inside residential areas. It was suspected that the miscreants were planning on disrupting the voting process on Election Day.

The police then initiated a district-wide search operation to locate them.
Around 6pm, the police received authentic reports that the militants were hiding in a densely populated town in Rashid Garhi. A group of policemen were then sent to conduct a raid in the house in Saddar Town but were fiercely resisted by the militants, killing two police constables in the process.

The police cordoned the entire area off to block all escape routes of the militants.
An hour later, a suicide bomber blew himself up, as a result of which the house caved in killing an elderly woman and other militants present with him.

“We are unable to confirm how many militants have been killed,” said a police official. Two suspected militants have, however, been arrested.

A child in a nearby house was also wounded and was immediately taken to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).
The two and a half hour long operation spread panic in the area as all entry and escape routes to the location were closed.
The official said the police are trying their level best to ensure fool proof security on Election Day.




And I suspect this would be done on purely phone interceptions that's why they pinpointed the location swiftly

Agree. That mofo is a shaytan and maligns Islam. His genome should be eliminated. That said, clearly some elements of the state apparatus are insiders helping these radical dogs.
