Pakistani Forces against Militants.

Actually, if you read the article carefully, you'll see that the operations have taken place in different parts of Kurram. Same case with Orakzai Agency. Along with the different dates of operation, & different casualty figures. On Post # 238, they took place in Central Kurram. On the other posts, they have taken place in other parts of Kurram.

Encounter with TTP men: Slain ringleader possessed six CNICs

KARACHI: Albeit a common man is made to run from pillar to post in order to attain his Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC), the ringleader of Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) Punjab, who was killed along with his two other accomplices in Korangi on Monday, kept six CNICs with different names on them.

According to SP Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) Ghulam Subhan all three alleged Punjabi Taliban, namely Qari Shahid, Babar and Mullah Haroon, possessed American-made 9mm pistols. He said Qari Shahid, the ringleader of the group kept six CNICs with different names to evade the law enforcement agencies (LEAs). He said the police had recovered literature and laptops from their possession that confirmed the presence more of their accomplices in the city. He further said that the residences of the accused relatives were their havens, where they used to plan heinous crimes like kidnapping for ransom to fulfill the desired demands of their organisation fighting with the armed forces in Miran Shah and Khost, Afghanistan.

He said that the accused persons had completed their education from the University of Karachi where they were affiliated to one of the students’ organisations. Police have also investigating as to how Qari Shahid succeeded obtaining six CNICs. staff report

Nine terror suspects held in Islamabad:

ISLAMABAD, Dec 8: Nine alleged terrorists affiliated with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TPP) were arrested during separate raids in different parts of the capital’s rural area on Thursday, sources close to the development told this reporter.

The arrests were made from the precinct of the Shahzad Town police but the police showed ignorance about the development.

However, a senior police officer on condition of anonymity confirmed that five alleged terrorists were picked up from the area of Pindorian in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police.

The officer added: “Today, the police arrested five terrorists during a raid but due to some reasons their details are not being disclosed.”

The office of the inspector general of police Islamabad said the arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by the Shahzad Town police and the Crime Investigation Department (CID). The arrested persons are in the custody of the CID and being investigated to trace and arrest their accomplices in the capital, if any,” the office added.

Some days back, the suspects were spotted by the CID in the area which led to their arrest during a raid conducted there.

The alleged terrorists were identified as Rasool Khan, Idrees Khan, Dilaram Khan, Hazrat Ali and Nadir Khan, natives of Kabul and Swat.

They were allegedly involved in several attacks on security forces and their convoys in Swat and Mingora during the military operation there. The five-member group was in hiding at a rented house located in Pindorian for the last a couple of months.

Earlier, in another raid conducted by law enforcement agencies in the area of Khana, four alleged terrorists were arrested from a rented house, sources closed to the arrests said.

They were affiliated with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan`s Swat chapter and identified as Rahim Behram Khan, Ali Khan, Muzamil Khan and Ustad Sumair, all residents of Swat.

The sources said the suspects were also hiding in a rented house in the area for the last a couple of months. They were allegedly involved in militancy and scores of attacks, including an ambush on security forces in Swat.

The sources said after their identification, the suspects had gone into hiding and later came to the capital city and hired a house in Khana on rent. Intelligence and vigilance mounted in the area led to the arrest of the terror suspects.

The arrested men were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigations, the sources added.

Intelligence agencies foil Muharram terror bid in Lahore:

LAHORE: A suspected terrorist was detained by an intelligence agency on December 8, foiling a large-scale terror bid planned for Lahore during Muharram, sources said.

Sources told The Express Tribune that the militant’s phone call was intercepted and he was later held from Raiwind Road. A suicide vest and at least 16 kilogrammes of explosives were also recovered from him.

A report was forwarded by the provincial Home Department’s International Security Wing to the Inspector General of Punjab Police, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) and other concerned officials to put security on alert to foil terrorist attacks on the ninth and tenth processions - particularly in the areas of Tokhar Niaz Baig on Raiwind Road, Dharmpura and Mustafabad.

Intelligence and law enforcement agencies had kept the areas under surveillance after they were alerted.

The militant had received a phone call from Waziristan on the eight of Muharram and also hailed from the tribal area, sources said. Intelligence sources revealed that the terrorist had reached Lahore before the start of Muharram, while the suicide vest and explosives were delivered to him by another terrorist of the same network.

The terrorist outfit had planned to target three big Shia processions in Lahore through multiple suicide and bomb attacks.

The intelligence and law enforcement agencies have tried to detain other members of the network and further arrests are expected soon, sources claimed.

The agency have kept the detained man’s identity secret to ensure the arrest of the remaining terrorists of the network. The terrorist has been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

Due to the sensitivity of the matter, agencies have not informed Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) about the incident and have also not sent explosive materials for analysis.

BDS Commander Muhammad Aslam confirmed this while talking to The Express Tribune.

Aslam added that when a case is registered, the BDS will be informed and the explosive material will also be handed to the department.

Three terrorists die in Kurram clashes

KURRAM AGENCY: At least three terrorists were killed and one soldier sustained injuries during clashes between security forces and terrorists in Kurram Agency on Saturday. According to media reports, terrorists attacked security forces in the Murghan area in Kurram Agency injuring one soldier, while the security forces retaliated, killing three terrorists on the spot. online

Two terrorists arrested:

HANGU: Two terrorists, including a key Taliban commander, were arrested by security forces during a raid at a suspicious house on Sunday.

Official sources said that Taliban Commander Asmatullah was arrested by security forces along with his brother from a suspected house in Hangu city.

A huge cache of ammunition was also recovered during the raid.

The initial report revealed that the detained commander was affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has been blamed for several attacks on both sides of the border.

Policeman, five terrorists killed in Peshawar encounter:

PESHAWAR: A policeman and five terrorists were killed during a shootout at Badabar area here on Monday, police sources said. The encounter started when terrorists equipped with automatic arms started firing at a police party at Aziz Market on Frontier Road, killing constable Hayat Khan. In retaliation, five terrorists were also reportedly killed, whose bodies were taken away by their aides. Police cordoned off the area and started investigation. app

Two Punjabi Taliban overpowered, explosives recovered:

KARACHI: Crime Investigation Department (CID) of the Sindh Police claimed to have arrested two operatives of Punjabi Taliban and recovered 30kg explosives and other weapons here on Tuesday.

SP CID Mazhar Mashwani informed media that a police party, with the assistance of officials of an intelligence agency, chased and intercept a car in Sohrab Goth, where terrorists allegedly started firing on the police party.

The police party managed to arrest two Taliban, including Wahid alias Lalo and Shakeel, while three of their accomplices managed to escape during crossfire.

The police also recovered 10kg explosives, three kalashnikovs, one 9mm pistol, one TT pistol and 200 bullets of Kalashnikov.

On the pointation of arrested culprits, the police raided a hideout at Khamosh Colony, Haji Murid Goth, and seized 20kg explosives, 3kg ball bearings, three detonators, one grenade, one Kalashnikov, one MP5 and five detonating covers.

Police informed that the culprits were associated with Punjabi Taliban group headed by Qari Aslam, who gave training and dispatched them from Waziristan.

MAMUNZAI: Security forces killed six extremists in Mamuzai area of Orakzai Agency while one security man was also martyred in landmine explosion, Geo News reported Friday.

According to sources, security forces targeted suspected militants’ hideouts and killed six militants in shelling while one hideout was also destroyed.

In Khadezai area of Upper Orakzai, one security man was martyred when a landmine exploded during patrolling.

At least six militants were killed and one hideout destroyed in security forces shelling here in Mohmand Agency on Friday while one security man died in a landmine blast.
According to details, security forces on early Friday morning shelled the suspected hideouts of extremists in Mamonzai area of Upper Orakzai with heavy artillery fire.
One hideout was destroyed in the shelling resultantly killing six extremists.
The security forces also continued forward movement in other areas of the troubled agency to clear it from militants.
It should be mentioned that more that 350 extremists have been killed and dozens of hideouts destroyed during security forces action in Upper Orakzai Agency during recent weeks. Meanwhile, a Jawan was killed in landmine blast in Khadazai area during routine patrol.

Suspected militant killed:

KOHAT, Dec 15: A suspected militant was killed as security forces and police shot at his group after being attacked by hand grenades in Mandakhel village of Kohat tehsil on Thursday.

Two security personnel suffered wounds in the attack.

Officials claimed that the killed suspect, Noor Mohammad, his father Faqeer Mohammad and uncle Qari Yousuf were involved in attacks on security forces and blowing up schools, electricity pylons and government installations.

They said during a joint operation, security forces and police destroyed the house of local Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan commander Yousuf Mullah in Mandakhel village.

According to them, law-enforcers later cordoned off the area on the tip-off about the presence of suspected militants. There followed hand grenade attack by suspected militants on them leaving two security personnel wounded.

Security forces fired gunshots at the attackers killing suspect Noor Mohammad. They later arrested 53 suspected militants and seized four hand grenades, two small machine guns, 18 shot guns, 14 rifles, five pistols and one revolver.

The arrested men were later shifted to unidentified location for interrogation after registration of cases against them in the local police station.

Meanwhile, two watchmen of a graveyard were gunned down in Landi Kotal tehsil of Khyber Agency on Wednesday night.

Local officials said bodies of Azeem and Niaz Amin were found near the Peerokhel graveyard, adding that the two were severely tortured before being shot dead at point-blank range.

A local militant group, Abdullah Ezaam Brigade, claimed responsibility for the killings.

Family of local MNA Noorul Haq Qadri had deputed two watchmen at the Peerokhel graveyard after suspected militants blew up graves of their four members in January last year.

Explosive devices were also planted alongside the same graves on Wednesday night but the khasadar force defused them.

In another incident, unidentified people destroyed the newly-built house of a transporter in Alamkhano area of Landi Kotal tehsil on Wednesday night.

The owner of the house, Gul Mohammad, is said to be a supplier of goods to Nato forces in Afghanistan.

Suspected militants targeted four such transporters in the area over the last three weeks.

Meanwhile, security forces and local political administration impounded at least 10 private containers on Torkhum border on Thursday for secretly transporting goods to Nato forces in Afghanistan in the guise of imported goods under the Afghan Transit Trade Treaty.

Officials said containers were seized and shifted to Landi Kotal army camp. They refused to provide further details.

During the random inspection of Afghanistan-bound containers by security forces and local administration, vehicular traffic remained suspended for several hours on the border inconveniencing road users.

21 militants killed in Upper Orakzai clashes:

PESHAWAR: At least 21 security personnel were injured when a check post in the Khanki area of Upper Orakzai Agency was attacked by militants after which the security personnel retaliated and killed about 15 militants, sources said on Friday.
According to an official source, the number of injuries may rise.

In a separate incident, security personnel killed seven militants in clashes after a landmine planted by insurgents killed a soldier in the Khadezai region of Upper Orakzai Agency, security officials said.

According to sources, the security official was killed when he stepped on the landmine planted on the roadside in the Khadezai area and died on the spot.

After the incident, security forces launched heavy artillery shelling on militant hideouts that killed six militants. One hideout was also destroyed.

The casualties could not be independently verified.

The areas of Upper Orakzai have been considered the last hideouts of militants after a military operation was launched here and the agency was declared “almost clear” of militants.

6 militants, 6 FC personnel killed in Balochistan:

QUETTA: Six Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were killed and two injured on Thursday in a clash in the Balgater area, situated between Turbat and Panjgur.

According to the FC spokesperson, an FC convoy was on its way to Panjgur when a group of armed men opened fire.

Security personnel returned fire, killing at least six of them. Security forces also recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from their possession.

Local administrations of Panjgur and Turbat remained quiet about the incident, only confirming that five people were killed in the clash.

Baloch armed groups often target security forces in Balochistan. However, no one has claimed responsibility for the incident yet.
The six bodies were handed over to the Balochistan Levies and shifted to the Turbat district headquarters hospital for autopsy.

FC Inspector General Ubaidullah Khan in his statement praised the performance of FC personnel and said the culprits must not be spared. He added, however, that FC was present to help those ‘who wanted peace’.

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.

It is good that they killed six BLA terrorists but what about these six FC soldiers martyrdom. FC Baluchistan should be more careful and vigilant nowadays.
 
17 terrorists killed in Orakzai air assault:

ORAKZAI AGENCY: At least 17 terrorists have been reported killed in an air assault on their secret hideouts in Orakzai Agency, the media reported on Sunday.

According to reports, the security agencies launched a robust attack with jet fighters on their hideouts in Jawaki and Samaa areas of Orakzai Agency on Sunday afternoon.

Three secret hideouts were demolished and 17 terrorists killed in Sunday’s lethal air assault of the security agencies.

Orakzai is the only tribal agency of the country which does not border Afghanistan. The security forces of Pakistan have been battling terrorists in the tribal region since 2008. online
