Pakistani footballer Shahlyla Baloch passes away in Karachi car accident

KARACHI: Pakistan striker Shahlyla Ahmadzai Baloch passed away in a car accident late on Wednesday night in Karachi.
Baloch was sitting in the passenger seat when the accident occurred in Karachi’s DHA Phase VIII area, her family confirmed to The Express Tribune.
“It is true that she passed away,” a family member said.
The family member further added that “she was travelling in the passenger seat, and the car slid.”
When Pakistani women travelled to Germany to ‘Discover Football’
Baloch, 20, was one of the finest strikers for Pakistan women’s football team. She represented the country at the South Asian Football Federation Women Football Championship 2014 in Islamabad, which was the last international event that Pakistan women’s team competed in.
“She represented Pakistan and was a role model for many girls. TodayShahlyla Baloch died in a car accident. What a shocking news,” FootballPakistan.Com (FPDC) wrote on their Facebook page.
“All our condolences to her family,” it added.
Many took to Twitter after the sad demise of the footballer.
