Pakistani Expert Slams US Drone Attack Plans in Niger

.
Not exactly , USA denying Drones strikes over Niger will have no consequences over USA mainland ..

US interests span the globe, not just the mainland. Its policies reflect that reality.

. .
so creating and disposing Terrorists is part of USA active World policing policy :p: good to know :usflag:

You are entitled to your opinion, of course, no matter how misguided.

. .
But Niger's government asked the US side to use drones on its territory to help fight terrorism.
Have you ever seen any European country using drone on their soil? How they maintain peace then?
The key lies within the phrase: Handle with care. Not handle with drones.

European countries follow policies that serve their own respective national interests.

Pakistan’s top security expert told Sputnik that Niger’s government was not doing the right thing by asking the US to conduct drone attacks on militants. He said it was not justified on the part of the US military to carry out drone attacks as per their whims, as such deadly attacks cause huge civilian casualties.

New Delhi (Sputnik) — Talat Masood, considered Pakistan's topmost security expert, has warned that the use of drones by the US military in Niger would be unjustified, as it would cause civilian causalities. Masood's observations come amid media reports that Niger has requested the US military carry out drone operations against militants operating along its border with Mali.

"Niger government's decision to ask the US to use drones against the terrorists will have long-term ramifications. The main problem with the drones is that they hit civilians as well which will result in resentment against the US in the long run," retired Lt Gen Talat Masood told Sputnik.

"I asked them some weeks ago to arm them (US drones) and use them as needed," Defense Minister Kalla Mountari of Niger had told the media recently.

Niger is a key US ally in the fight against terrorism. The United States has provided support for the military of Niger, especially in the way of training forces to combat multiple terrorist groups. Niger faces threats from the local Boko Haram along its southern border and Algeria-based al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb along its porous borders to the west and north. Pockets of Islamic State fighters reportedly operate in the west.

Pakistani expert Talat Masood is of the opinion that the irresponsible use of US drones has been a major cause of fallout between countries, causing tension around the world.

"The US thinks that they are most powerful and can do anything against any nation. The fact is that many of these activities are responsible for tension around the world," Masood added.

He claimed that the use of drones in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region was America's unilateral move.

"What America is doing is not justified. No one gave the US the right to use drones in Afghanistan-Pakistan region. The US must understand and respect the basic principles of any country. Unilateral use of drones by the US is condemnable. There have been protests in Pakistan against the US drone warfare, as many civilians including children have been killed by drones," Masood said.

A growing US military role in Niger is both unpopular with the local population as well as among the American civil society, which considers the country's engagement in the central African country a costly affair.

Interesting comments given that Pakistan allowed US to conduct drone attacks on its soil, knowing full well there’s a possibility of civilian casualties. So why can’t Niger ask for the same? At least Niger shows transparency in asking for drone strikes, not the dramabaizi Pakistan shows after every drone strike.

Of course, no civilians should be killed in any anti-terrorist operations, but can it avoided at all costs?

not the dramabaizi Pakistan shows after every drone strike.

I don't know what make you to state as such. By any chance, I am sure, you are not Niger nor US in the matter.

Pakistani expert speaks per experience and based upon the past that actually, the continuous obsession stops you to understand the whole idea behind those observations. Don't you even think for second that how come expert spoke about a matter which Pakistan itself has been the part in Past. Those drone strikes in Pakistan were actually the wrong decision as well as negligence on part of ruling party/leader that we all see no strikes then after. Indeed, those are losses that actually made us understand that such permission or request is not going to help as expected but more of losses. If you cannot credit the one then how come you compare Niger transparency against Pakistani Expert talking openly. You missed the whole point that why a Pakistani Expert said as such.

Leave it and try not to quote to show your anger and hatred against Pakistan.

None of my posts on PDF attribute to the fact I hate Pakistan. Criticism is one thing, hatred is another. I practice the former, not the latter.

This is the quote by Lt Gen Talat Masood that caught my attention:

He claimed that the use of drones in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region was America's unilateral move.

"What America is doing is not justified. No one gave the US the right to use drones in Afghanistan-Pakistan region. The US must understand and respect the basic principles of any country. Did US use drones unilaterally in Afghanistan-Pakistan region as Lt Gen Masood claim? You claim it was a wrong decision by Pakistan government. So who is right here? If we are to believe Lt. Gen Masood's comments, US launched how many drone strikes in Pakistan? And how many times did the Pakistani government condemn it? And this went on for how long? This is the point of my dramabaizi comment. What else to say when you allow another country to violate your sovereignty like that?

Yes, one can make a good case against the use of drones as Lt Gen Masood made quite clear, but this was not the point of my reply.

You are merely out of track for the thing that you want to understand on frozen sense of understanding. None allowed to violate our sovereignty but this is what Indian media can fed to the masses. Decisions were not made for the media taunts but there were circumstances that led to understand that such attacks will actually cause more damage hence, was the reason that Pakistan Army itself went on the ground. How US used those drones within Pakistan and what was the reason that is being labelled as dramabazi, are different yet undisclosed for much greater purpose. It was more about incompetent political leadership that went all asleep rather than say NO to US.

But still, Pakistan drone attacks are not relevant to the subject here but the experience is being shared and told to Niger that how can still do it better.

Pakistan would not allow USA to operate drones if it had the guts.It is scared itself.
