Pepper launched Cricket World Championship in the last week of April 2010, and from what I’ve heard, it’s doing pretty well thus-far on the Appstore. In talking to their development team, I learned that the developers thought long and hard about how a Cricket experience should be delivered to a smaller platform like the iPhone. In the end, they went for the “Simpler is Better” approach. On an iPhone, you just want to have a simple, fun gaming experience. You don’t necessarily want to tweak fifty variables and ten controls before you even get to play a shot. And in that spirit, Cricket World Championship 20 just lets you swing away and have fun from the very get-go! There aren’t any lengthy learning curves to contend with. [Continued at URL above]

. . .
this game "cricket revolution" has mind blowing features, so detailed.. bowling action and batting action, lots of features.

 for Pak Gaming Industry.

But I never understood one thing. Why play sports games on a computer when they are supposed to be played on the field?
My bro plays FIFA and NBA and that irritates me. I think one should play these on the field and not on a PC. After all you can't play Crysis on field, these are the only games that can be played in real life and add to one's physical and mental growth, not to mention one derives much more pleasure playing it in real life. Why stunt it on PC?

Well, I am in "pardes" at the moment, so unfortunately playing cricket on the iPhone is my only option right now :-) I have to fix that soon, though... missing Lahore terribly!

^^ Speaker, you're right. For the PC, there really is no better game than Mindstorm's Cricket Revolution. I wrote about it here:

I think this new iPhone game is a lot of fun too... much simpler experience since it's on a phone and not a PC, but fun nonetheless.

Well I am still averse to playing games on my iphone...but might be interesting to try this game out! About Cricket Revolution, I am still disappointed about the bowling options, which is no better than what EA came out with in 1999. Hopefully they fix it in their next release. But the batting options are amazing. I love the option of the late cut and hooks and pulls. And the cover drive just takes the cake :) Compared to most other Cricket games, this one is pretty logical as well, especially w.r.t timing and placement of shots. And I love the fact that batsmen can get stumped, which was not the case before!

Totally agree, especially for people who play sports for staying fit and healthy. But for me, winning is everything (not that I win every time!) and sometimes if I am not able to play the game (due to weather, time of the day, less people etc.), computer games help me let off the competitive steam ;)
